just bought a pair of daytona road star gortex boots  very comfy... but thinking it may be to hot to wear theses in france when touring next week. so thinking of using my sidi sports boots at least they have air vents, used theses last time I toured france on my zzr1400, and if I remember correctly even the sidi sport boots were quite hot to wear. so thinking, the daytona gortex will most like cook them  so how many of you, wear gortex boots for touring in hot weather or do you use sport boots with air vents. or I,m I being a big "fairy" and should just get on with it and use the gortex boots which are made for touring. knowing my luck it will most likely rain  at some point, so do I stay dry and :sweatdrop: with the daytona gortex or cool and possible damp with the sidi sport boots :undecided: so what do you reckon?
Have you considered a decent pair of trainers? Aldi are doing them buy one pair get one free, I gather you're familiar with that concept. :mfr_lol:
Failing that get yourself a pair of Altberg boots.

what licence :whistling: :sweatdrop:
Dave your new Daytona boots should be ideal as they are both gortex and "comfy",
I use Sidi Venture Goretex in all weathers and they too are fine, they are very comfy in all weather and waterproof (I use Leder Grist)
The only advice I would offer is to make sure that your new Daytona boots really are comfy before you set off, it would be a pain to get half way round your tour to find that they aren't as comfy as you thought...break them in
Dave i have the tcx infinity and they are goretex ,i wore them last year when touring and for a couple of days it was in the 40 the temp ,what i used to do was when i stopped for a 5/10 min break would just take them off let feet breath ,overall found them to be ok even with the heat.
I have the Hein Gericke version of the road star. Once broken in, they are brilliant.
At first I thought they were a bit too tight, but once worn in they are a perfect fit
Still using my old Hein Gericke Tuaregs - in plain black. Goretex - but never had a problem with overheating even in 35° heat. May well get a sports boot now I'm not a "Charlie and Ewan" clone anymore!
i wore daytona goretex boots when in germany a couple of months ago. 27/28 degrees most days. no problems at all, very comfortable.

Do you work for the OFT? I have just spent 2 hours of torture at an OFT adjudication hearing and the words "revoke your licence" is still ringing in my ears.
