This is an extremely long shot I know but I'm appealing for anyone who would want to give a three year old black & white Staffy Cross bitch a new home.
In the early hours of this morning I dealt with a job at work where somebody had shot the dog in the head with an air gun causing a nasty wound. The dog was severly stressed but still showed no signs of aggression. I took the dog to the vets and they flushed out the wound and stapled it's head up. It's on antibiotics for the next six days and she's going to be fine.
However the owners were not even remotely interested and didn't even want the dog back. Nor could they afford the vets fees of £170. They even told the vet they couldn't afford £5 per week to pay the bill off.
If anyone wants this dog the owner is willing to give it away. I will as much as possible even help out with the dogs vet bill, unfortunately I think the dog will be neglected or possibly even destroyed if it stays where it currently is with the owners.
As you know steve.. we had a cocker spaniel for 15 years, we got him when he was 8 weeks old as a pet for our daughters, we where all devastated when we at to have him put down. I can't and never will.. understand how anyone can hurt a helpless animal. there just completly brain dead. last year around november time I heard of some thugs who befriended a lovely cat, only to strap a firework rocket to it's tail. the cat needed to be put down. I remember thinking a the time, I would love to get my hands around their scornie throats and squeeze the worthless life out of them.
I'll have an ask around some of my doggy owning friends down here.....
I have 2 awards for helping animals...one is from the RSCPA for rescuing an abused Lab puppy ...and the other was from the Police... a caution for Assault!!!.. :mfr_lol: cos I got hold of the fukker.. :censored:
Mogs, I don't blame you, I know I would do the same. I just don't understand how anyone can be so cruel.
My Uncle used to work for the RSPCA in east London.
I helped out for a month when I was 16.
Some of the things you see are sickening and some are remarkable.
He was called out to womans house because of dogs barking and nobody answered when the police knocked.
The woman had died of starvation but her 12 dogs were all healthy.
She fed them rather than herself.
Another callout resulted in him being restrained by 3 police officers (he is an ex-Para) as they escorted the dogs owner to the Police car. The guy had tortured the dogs to death using whips, cigarettes and electrocution.
The guy got sectioned but my Uncle would have preferred that he be buried. :gun_bandana:
On an average week we would put down around 40-60 cats and 10-15 dogs.
Any that were rehomable we would transport to the local RSPCA kennels.
About 50% of those also ended up being put down.
He had 2 chest freezers in his garage for the corpses.
So, the next time you see an RSPCA Inspector, thank them.
I do hope the dog finds a home. Not with me unfortunately as our cats object to dogs.
There may be a positive outcome to this tomorrow afternoon. I have found a dog rescue centre who have offered to help. They are actually going to pay the vet bill and then the owner has agreed to give up the dog.
Fingers crossed nothing changes between now and tomorrow afternoon.
well done Steve, top man
Yes they have a foster carer for the dog all set up ready and waiting who lives in Huddersfield.
Well I am very pleased to announce that everything went smooth as clockwork this afternnon.
Young Smooch has been rescued from a neglectful family and is now placed with a foster family where she will recieve lots of love, walks and affection She will eventually go to a permanent home hopefully in the not too distant future. Beautifully natured dog if not a tad mad!

Border Collie markings if ever I saw them ... well done mate ... we all like a happy ending.
:agree:, excellent outcome there mate!
Result!
So, it's pretty obvious that the owner of the dog shot it? No proof perhaps, but if they don't want it, then it begs the question of who shot it.
Fucking scum. Name and address?
steve excellent result  your a big softie really aren't you...... you would be no good as a member of the "SWEENY" jack regan would have you transferred back to the woodentops before you could say "flat foot" :mfr_lol:
It does look like a good result for that little fella, although he does look a bit frightened, but so would we if some little :shit: had shot us in the cabbage. I do hope he has found a really good home, and lives happily ever after.
She's with a foster family at the moment so thats a result. The charity have covered all her vet bills and have had her spayed, chipped & innoculated. She's safe now, thats the main thing.
