Thinking of getting one of those gel seats, are they any good?????
Depends what you mean by "gel"! I had gel seats on both tigers and they were more uncomfortable than standard. Soon ebayed them ! Also I ripped one by accident and the gel is "blended" into the top foam. Bit of a con really. Still new to the GTR but as I see it the GTR gel seat is lower than std? so better for the err shorter riders! I'm a lanky git so I'll stick to std .
i had a gel seat and found it uncomfortable after 20 mins v 2 hours on the standard. There are a few guys who do like them so wait and see who else chimes in. Personally I think gel has had its day and cellular foam will be king.
the most comfortable thing ive ever sat on is a Airhawk seat pad, I did 10 hours straight on route to prague .
I've had a Kawasaki GEL seat on my 2009 GTR and currently have the later model GEL seat on my present GTR.
There's no doubt that they are 'firm' but TBH I really like 'em, now that it and my arse have got used to each other.
Gill has an Airhawk cushion on the pillion but is quite happy with just the GEL seat, and she doesn't exactly have what might be termed as a substantial derriere :whistling:
I have the kawasaki gel seat on my gtr. I found the original seat to be fine, I got the gel seat because I'm a short arse. it's 25mm lower and 20mm narrower which can only help  but are they worth the £400 plus new price  well that would depend on how long your legs are and how much you value your arse on long trips  but I've seen them on evil bay selling for £150 upwards

I had a gel seat on mine and found it to be brill.... takes a little getting used to as it feels firmer than the standard, but on long distances ones testicals don't go numb  which they did on the std seat.
