Does anyone think that producing some GTR (UK) polo shirts or simular would be a good idea ?
Roger, very good idea, what did you have in mind exactly? Picture of a GTR, the words GTR 1400?
A girl can never have too many clothes in her wardrobe
I have used this company in the past for club clothing
http://www.xamax.co.uk/
If you had something like 'GTR1400 UK' embroidered on the shirts, then 24 items of any mix [ tee shirt, polo, sweat shirt etc] they will embroider for free. The clothing they supply is very good quality and I have had no complaints about shrinkage, twisting of fading.
Great idea. Will they be delivered in HG bags!!
and do we get a long debate over the best colour :mfr_lol:

It's Kawasaki - so there is only one possible colour - Green. :taz:
Good idea as long as they are available in "adult" sizes

Now that I like
Can we have one with a picture of a GTR without its panniers on :ohplease: :mfr_lol:.
that's a dam good idea for the next gtr meet  put me down for the best colour magnesium flavor one.
I was just testing the water, and haven't looked into exactly what's available, but I know that there are some good value good quality shirts available in the marketplace. there's already some excellent ideas on here, and prices don't have to be too high.
Maybe if there is enough interest we should decide exactly what we want, Polo shirt or collared shirt for example (please not another T-Shirt) I reckon something more up market and embroidered as suggested would compliment the quality of the GTR.
Maybe we could have a poll to gauge members opinions ?
I was thinking of getting an emblem done for the GTR and using the proceeds from that to fund the site. Didn't get down to working out the figures
It says it's a PES file, what is it and how do you open them?
Dunno, but I'd buy a t-shirt with that imprinted on it. I'm sure my mate has the equipment to do this (or did have)
Should be 1400GTR though :help:
May be better with print rather than embroidery.
Embroidered stuff can unpick easily or scrunch up the material around it
I use this bunch for my Printed Gym T's ... http://www.spreadshirt.co.uk/
Oh for you older chaps who don't want tee shirts they do these....... ooooh.... look!!! a Sports Jacket :mfr_lol:

Maybe this would do for 'younger' members
A PES file it would appear is the format that the embroidery machines use. BROTHER machines in particular. Put the downloaded file on a stick, take it to the place where you are going to get the work done and thats it done.
GTR 1400 seems a bit dull, can we have something a bit more, ya know a bit more aggressive, and in ya face, what about. "These bikes go like shit off a chrome plated shovel" or " Dont just sit there in ya car get yourself a GTR" Erm twas just a thought. :whistling:

I have a t-shirt that says this.

I must say I am rather embarrassed by t-shirts emblazoned with the F word. No wonder most people hold us (Motorcyclists) in low regard. I always try to portray a better image of us bikers, than walking around with words such as that splashed across my chest. And I'm sure mums and dads walking around with young kids dont want to see that sort of thing. :embarrassed:

Hi,I,d like a shirt too! Perhaps you could have GTR a Kawasaki Thing. under a suitable pic on the front
It has been on my mind that my post of a 'Viking' Rider might have been seen as somewhat offensive...sorry if it upset anyone, I posted it to make exactly that point.
I reckon a tasteful polo shirt doesn't necessarily need any image just words would do
GTR owners club ...maybe ?

Not wishing to go off thread Roger, but ffs, we are all grown ups on here, this forum is so relaxed and adult and not (thank god!) a haven of political correctness. If anyone has been offended then I would suggest it is their narrow mindedness. If it is in your head - GET IT OUT OF THERE!
Publish and be damned man
I agree (if I'm still allowed an opinion not having one anymore?!) that a logo or just a stylised wording looks far classier than a picture. Not always, some stylised pictures can look cool, but I always find the ones with a 'real' depiction of the product/club a bit, well naff. Sort of thing that people with bad adenoids would wear!

This.
It's a very hands off approach on this forum. I even get away with Bradistan!
That's not to say if you go well off the track you won't get a :ban: but you would have to do something really stupid to get one of those. Like maybe buying a K1600 :whistling:
On the bike site here in ireland they had hoodie style fleece made, what it had on the front over the heart area whas the bike site address and on the right shoulder was you web name, on the cb1300 forum they had t shirts with a picture of the bike on the front with bike make honda under the pic and on the back the web address again.Keep it simple and you then keep the pc people and i dont mean police constable happy and if you wearing it out you dont feel like a plonker because it has foul language on it.

A poll would be a good idea at this stage
1, How many would be interested
2, Polo shirt
3, T-Shirt
4, Both
5, Colour, Black, Grey, Green, Blue, or Beige (for older members) :mfr_lol:
Obviously initial outlay would be required so those wanting a shirt would have to commit to buy
What's your thoughts.
Yes, both, colour would depend on what motif was chosen, and in adult sizes. :hammer:

Basically there isn't any....I e-mailed a supplier, who had been recommended to me, but after waiting four days for a reply I rang today to find out what was going on, to be told that my e-mail had gone into their trash inbox, and hadn't been acted on
Soooooo, I'll be in touch with them again next week to establish some costings.
I will keep you all informed of progress...also I have other suppliers in mind.
In the meantime it would help if I had some indication of numbers required, don't forget your pillion will need one too and they could make a nice Christmas pressie :mfr_lol:
I want one, usual size is XXL and black as its the fastest colour.
If I have to have another colour then no pron.
Alan
I want a Black or Pink  t shirt in size 16/L
i would like two please Roger XXL one in grey one in black
XXL seems to be the favoured size but I guess XL will do me just fine.
And since it's Kawasaki it should be green of course. :ohplease:
Hi,yep a good idea.I,d buy one straight away.
Ditto. In the large please
I'd like one too please!!
XL for me, but any chance of a white one? One can get awfully sweaty pits over here... :help: :sweatdrop:

I'll post the latest info as soo as possible
2 x XXL in black for me please, is there a polo shirt option available?
With reference to the shirts I will have two please.... 1x small....1x XL
Thanks Sidders.
Despite waiting for almost two weeks, plus I have had difficulty with the supplier I originally approached, I still haven't heard anything so I assume that they dont need/want our business
To keep you all in the picture I shall begin enquiries with other suppliers and expect to have some response soon
Sorry about the delay, I didn't want you to think I had forgotten about the task
Hi all,
I am just catching up with this thread (I am gonna change the computer for a black one so its quicker...) can you let me know what the final design was for these? I am interested too..
I may also be able to put you in touch with a Company that does the t-shirt branding as a mate of mine runs one - Not sure how cheap it will be, but happy to pass on the details for you to chat with him if you want them just let me know :) They are based in Essex..

Latest update
I'm now in conversation with a supplier who seems to be just right for our needs (thanks for the heads up AJ  )
At this stage I'm awaiting costings and samples of artwork etc, and will keep everyone inmformed once these are to hand
hope this link works as it gives an idea of the proposed club shirts
Quality of the shirts is good and embroidery looks very good also
Prices would work out at arount £12.57 per Polo shirt based on an order of 50, and that is a cost price which I think is very good. Grey colour is recommended as it enhances the image better, maybe white also would be another option (Total price for 50 shirts £ 628.50)
Prices for T - Shirts again based on an order for 50 would be £7.18 each (Total price for 50 shirts £359.00)
TBH I think that the quality and price of these shirts is excellent and bear in mind that these initial costs cover origination /set up fees so subsequent/extra orders should be even more economical
Its up to you guys and Girl to let me know if you are happy with this and I'll take matters to the next stage which will of course involve stumping up money
Can I suggest that we know give some commitment to individual requirements, including numbers of shirts required and of course sizes which will enable me to confirm costings
Thanks everyone...I'm down for a couple of XL and a couple of small (for Gill) not me :whistling:

I have yet to confirm an order, and before I do, how are we going to pay you? Will you have a Paypal account set up? As not being very up to date with that sort of thing, can we pay via CC to your PP account?
heeeelp!
Ros
don't worry I have a paypal account ~ details will be provided when we get enough orders for me to submit an order to the supplier
I'll use my paypal account so no-one needs to worry about me booking an early holiday to Skegness...not that there's owt wrong with Skeggy :mfr_lol:

Do I understand correctly that I can pay into your paypal account with a credit card?

I'm suggesting Paypal, that way I don't have to stump up a large amount of cash out of my own pocket , and all members will have both a record of their individual payments as well as the knowledge that their money is safe and secure.
Payment by Paypal is simple, they do make a small handling charge, and you will need to set up an account to use the service.
I wont ask for any money from any member until we have reached 50 orders which is the lowest amount I can order. At the moment we are up to about 25 polo's and 11 T-shirets..soooo there's still some way to go.
P & P will be charged at the actual rate for U.K postage any overseas will obviously cost a little more.
Asif what colours do you want
I'll have t-shirts in white please

are you factoring in the paypal charges you will pay , into each individual t shirt, I thinks its 4 pc
cheers Viper, I hadnt thought of that, I will add a small handling charge, I thgink you are right and Paypal do charge 4% (I'll check)
Obviously I'm not trying to make any money on behalf of the club from this excercise, so anything left over in my paypal account will be donated to the club/forum running costs, which I think is fair

Correct about the payment..
I need a minimum order quantity of 50 for both types of shirt, at the moment orders are standing at 25 Polo shirts, and 17 T-Shirts, so I need more orders
I will let everyone know when to P.M me their postage/address details once the order is ready to be placed, just prior to which I will also be able to confirm postage costs.

***** UPDATE*****
GTR club shirt orders stand at approx 25 Polo and 17 T-Shirts
The initial quote from the supplier was based on orders of 50 of each type of shirt.
I have asked the supplier to re-quote based on a smaller quantity, as it seems that few or no more orders are arriving
This means that the adjusted quantity of shirts will now cost £14.39 for each Polo shirt plus handling and P&P which will be about £5.00 max
and £11.00 for T-Shirts plus the same above.
If you have ordered and are happy for me to go ahead at the slightly increased prices then I will provide payment details and place your orders once payment has been received.
I NEED THOSE WHO HAVE ORDERED TO GIVE ME THE COLLECTIVE 'NOD' TO GO AHEAD
Delivery will be about10 days following proof approval, so about 14 days in total
Thanks,
Rog

Yep my head is spinning, even more than normal :mfr_lol:
Please do not change any of your orders as its toooooo late, the total order has been placed with the supplier for exactly what everyone asked for.
Maybe in the future the club may have its own bank account and regalia/memorabilia stock, then we would be in a position to accept orders and fulfill them from a central stock.
However at this stage I can only order the relatively small amount from the supplier that have been ordered by members (hope that makes sense)
I don't mind doing this..... really.......... :whistling:
Thanks for the payments, once you have all paid then I shall be able to pay the supplier but not until you have all paid.
So those that still have to pay please do so quickly.

I've received your money and will try and include your order, but I won't make any promises
TBH I'm not too pleased as I have alread said within the thread that I do NOT want anymore orders, I've posted updates on a regular basis so that everyone was kept informed, but it appears that not everyone reads my updates, you can probably tell from this post that I'm a bit hacked off.
It has been a bloody nightmare organising this as there is no "stock" of shirts etc to just send out, as a consequence every change or adjustment to orders has involved a lot of hassle for me, this is on top of a great deal of communication with the suppliers who have been somewhat difficult to deal with over the last week or so.
I'm hoping to have final artwork proofs this week[/b]
I know organizing the shirts is a lot of work and I think you are doing a great job.
Thank you so much for all your efforts. :biker3:
*****Latest update*****
The supplier I have been dealing with is now saying that I ordered 'outline' images to be embroidered onto the polo shirts and printed onto the T-Shirts, which frankly is absolute nonsense.
I have cancelled the order with them and am in the process of sourcing another supplier who will be able to fulfil our order to our requirements.
I am very sorry for the delays, and assure you that monies transferred for the club shirts is quite safe with me.
TBH, what seemed like a straightforward task has proved to be anything but
I won't be beaten and we will have our shirts.
Please bear with me as I really am doing my best
Rog, no problem at all, keep going and all will be well in the end.
Alan
Bloody hell, OC!
Che palle!
I feel for you... What appeared, on the face of it, to be a simple way to do something nice and generous for everyone has really turned out to be a complete nightmare...
I think that whether shirts arrive or not beforehand, you fully deserve to have your beers paid for at the next gathering...
Good luck - take your time and thanks again for battling on our behalves!
Sincerely
Ros
Good On ya mate , dont let the bas**rds grind ya down :punk:
I take it now not a good time to get 1 with printed a Fj12 logo on it :mfr_lol: ....... I'll get my coat " Taxi" !!!

Thanks all... I'll battle on ...phew .....I honestly cannot beleive how difficult some people can make a simple task become
Viper you didn't say which Xmas dinner :mfr_lol:
I'm thinking of ordering some of these tops from OC in November, that wouldn't be a problem would it OC? :whistling:
:mfr_lol:
Would you like him to gift wrap them for you too Steve ..... actually that's a good idea .. :whistling: :whistling:
The penny has dropped (eventually) DOH :embarrassed:
Ok Guys and Girl....I think that the reason my previous supplier wanted to provide 'outline' images was because an full embriodered image (as requested) was going to be too expensive in relation to their quote, hence the hassle about what the original order was actually for, (there was NEVER any doubt about this).
I have now found another supplier who CAN and WILL provide us with what we require.
BUT, it will cost us all £4.00 extra for EVERY T-Shirt ordered and £5.00 extra for EVERY Polo shirt ordered
I am really soooooo totally pis*ed off about all this and would like to apologise to all concerned, as I have tried my very best to sort this out
Your monies are completely safe and I will refund everyone if you so wish....But doing this will mean that the whole idea would have to be shelved because prices that I have been quoted are dependant upon quantities ordered, so less quantity means higher individual price
The good news is two fold ..
1, the original run of shirts will include all initial 'set up'costs, therefore any future shirt orders will of course be cheaper.
2, this supplier is close to where I live and therefore I can call and actually see any artwork before its confirmed
The 'new' potential supplier has experience of producing shirts for another Bike club and has already quoted me prices which include 'local lad' discount
So its up to you......
1, If we are to continue with this project I WILL need extra moey to cover the cost of the shirts
2, Cancel the whole thing and I will return all your monies immediately
The Choice is yours..... please post your views quickly so I can sort things out
And once again I'm really really, sorry for all the hassle :embarrassed: :embarrassed: :embarrassed:
Rog[/b]

Tom
I'm out - too much hassle sending another cheque and those shirts are getting way too expensive for my taste.
Especially since there is the wrong coloured bike on them anyway.
Just burn the one I sent you.
how many shirts do you currently have on order and what is the minimum, im tempted to say dont bother as £23 for a shirt that i can live without now seems a bit pricey, however i wont pull out if my order took you 1 below the miniumum and pissed everyone off, so basically im out if you still have minimum orders
Sorry OC but I am out. Just too expensive.
Really sorry Rog, but it's gone a bit too rich for my blood on this one so I think I'm out
Geoff
I'm happy to proceed. I'll send dosh over shortly
Sorry Rog, I am going to drop out of this now so can you drop me a refund via PayPal for the money I paid.
I cant justify over £70 for 4 t-shirts :( really sorry...
Thanks

PS: Have PM'd u too.
Sorry Rog, it was a bit steep in the first place, and now it is vertical so with regret I am out.
Thank you for trying though.
Dear OC,
Please advise whether or not you will abandon project due to people dropping out. If it's still a goer, I'll send funds, (back home now) otherwise... I won't :whistling:
Hope you're not too pissed off....

Bloody hell Rog , my heart goes out to ya mate. Talk about banging your head against a wall. I'm still up for it if we have enough numbers. I really appreciate your efforts, so If it's still on I will fire you another cheque.
Sorry OC
Im dropping out... Another £8 is to much for the t shirt IMO.
Thanks to all for putting up with this hassle.
I will refund everyone in full, for those that have sent cheques... they will be destroyed
I've had a couple of P.Ms from members and I have responded to them

Whatever you want to do is ok with me, your health is more important than any old shirt, you do whats right for you and that's the end of it.
Thanks

By which time you will all be riding BMW 1600s or Triumph Explorers as there is a world shortage of replacement rear shocks for the GTR, all your paint has peeled from footrests and exhausts and they still wont put the 1441 from the ZZR in it
