That's how I would best describe the ride out that we had yesterday.
Thanks Geoff (100milesaway) for leading us through/over what seemed like every country lane between Devils Bridge and Blanchland, and back again. NOT AN "A" ROAD IN SIGHT...Absolute bliss, with great weather as well.
Here's a few pics of us at Blanchland, which is a place I'd never even heard of let alone visited, I reckon we did about 190 miles all of which were superb , small country lanes, tight bends, moor top routes...awesome.

The Cafe where we had great grub, sadly no Cornish pasties though

The village post office...how's that for an old postbox..which is even older than the combined ages of us all (well nearly) :mfr_lol:

Oldies on tour. hanging on to the money in their pockets by the looks of it :mfr_lol:

Yours truly..posing :mfr_lol:

A final stop at Brough Castle for an ice cream, and the 'transport' shown in this picture wasn't what we rode yesterday..............although maybe on another day :mfr_lol:

Excellent pictures Roger, you had some decent weather yesterday Nice to see Geoff's pink arm bands are still getting plenty of use.
If I hadn't been working I'd have been out on the bike also.
Looks great. I don't know if this has been explored before but, how about a new topic 'impromptu ride outs' or something similar. This might get a few of us together having a ride out or just meeting up at a location as we could have yesterday? I would have jumped at the chance instead of cutting the grass!
- nice to see a set of handsome gentlemen sitting on a wooden park bench and having ice cream !!

Think it would be a great idea to have some regional rideout or just meets. Theres probably no end of meeting places within 75mls of any number of us where we could meet, any excuse for a ride. Anyone got any ideas. I live in Birmingham (for my sins) so just to throw in an iodea how about the Ponerosa, should be within a catchment area of a few of us.
yup... and us South East chappies could do Finchingfield..... any excuse to get a sossy sarnie

The idea of meeting places for local ride outs is good, but in reality these places already exist, up here we generally use Devils Bridge

As a rule we make ride out arrangements on the spur of the moment depending on whose available etc
Nice little trip there Roger and the pics look good ....I imagine that most of you remember the Castle being built ! :mfr_lol:

Why dont we have a meet at the Bridge last Sunday of every month for a chat and whatever? There's loads of us GTR owners now within easy travelling distance of it.
They'll obviously be a few weekends when some of us cant make it due to shifts etc but its something to consider.
I've got no problem with that..I'd probably be there anyway
It's my spiritual home on Sundays. All rides start and finish at "The Bridge". You just cant go wrong, as all around is fantastic biking country, with the added bonus of scenery overload.
Thats why I suggested it, most folk know where it is as well which helps.
