Hey guys.
Did anybody has worked on led blinkers?
For the back one a standard led replacement buld should do it, but for the front I want to try to do the same as the new K1600GT : ramp type blinker :

This is realy sexy.
1st quesiton : any clue on how to do that?
2nd question : How to lower the blinkind speed once the led are seteled? (you know the typical missing bulb symptom) without having to install resistor (they heat a lot!!)
3rd question : I would like then to ''cancel'' the original front blinker by changing them into something else, an idea?
Cheers
Salut Badaboum, Bienvenu au Forum des GTRistes Rosbif.
To stop the flashing from speeding up you may need to replace the flasher relay.

As for getting hold of the 1600GT style indicators and fitting them, you are on your own there.
You could replace the original front indicators with pieces of plastic made to look like the bike has Machine Guns fitted. :gunsmilie: :gun_bandana:
It's a good look Rosbif................

Did I hear my name?
Hello,
Rosbif : Can you please explain me : Where I found those relay in the bike? Is there one per blinker? How does it work? I realy know nothing about it.
regarding the K blinker, I am going to see with BM how much does the OEM blinker cost. May be I can fit it on the GTR...
You can get led lights in strips on ebay here. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1M-100cm-5050-Waterproof-IP65-60-SMD-LED-Lamp-Light-Strip-Golden-Yellow-Orange-/200787489572?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item2ebfddf324#ht_4353wt_1038.
shouldnt be too difficult to wire them into the existing indicator circuit.
I just love that picture Winny .. it's an object of such beauty ......

Sure is, but the GTR is also a beautiful beast - probably prettier.
Hey guys,
The K1600GT is a nice bike, but there is something wrong with its design...don't know what, but its not as sexy as the GTR....
anyway...
On my way of working on the led blinkers, do anybody know how to change the flasher relay in order to slow down the flash rate once the led are installed?
I don't wanna put // resistor as its an ugly solution.
There are flasher relay special for led, but did anybody changed it?
Do you know also where is the flasher relay box? how to get to it?
Thanksss from sunny france

I was going to help you until you said it was sunny in France :mfr_lol: :mfr_lol: :mfr_lol:........ its still raining here
badaboum the flasher relay is under the seat on the right side of the bike behind the side cover almost opposite the front pannier mount
If you switch your bikes ignition on and apply the 'flashers' you will be able to feel the relay 'ticking' with your finger
Details of flash rates etc can be found on page 16-65....and location is shown on page 16-10 in this PDF

Hello,
Thansk for the tip
Just did the removal to inspect the relay for the flasher.
I want to put some flashing led instead of the bulds so need to change to a slower flasher relay.
Did anyone bought a led capable flasher relay??? if yes, where? any link?
THanks
