As some of you are aware, I went through my front discs on my 2010 in 16000 miles. Big K were not interested, even though other owners have the same problem.
My query is which pads to use. The OEM were changed in 2012, which I believe acknowledges that there was a problem
Should I use these, or are any of the after market ones better and do not wear out the discs
Thanks
Tom
I replaced my OEMs after 25k with EBC HHs.
These lasted 22k before I replaced them with Ferodo HHs.
The EBCs were as good as the OEMs and in my 49,300 miles my OEM discs have worn down to 4.1 and 4.2mm respectively.
I will soon be replacing the discs with aftermarket ones.
Not sure if I'm gonna risk £140 on Chinese rotors from eBay or else pay full whack for the EBC rotors.
Sorry, since all my pads lasted fine I can't advise on what would be better w.r.t. less wear.
SBS pads for me. Best i've ever used. much better stopping power and feel than OE. Over the years i've tried EBC, Ferrodo and Bendix. I was advised to try the SBS pads a few years ago by a mate who used them on his race bike. i've used them ever since. Of course that's just my opinion others will swear by other manufacturers.
I've only used the OEM Kawasaki ones and EBC.
I'd have to say the Kawasaki ones are better for the initial bite.
