Can HID's be fitted to the GTR ?
Yup, several have done it.
I haven't as I consider the 1400s headlights to be more than adequate as is.
Xenon HID is good! But GTR1400 has installed 2 x H4 bulbs - . You can also select Philips Extreme Vision standard H4 socket - it gives an even better light!
Have a look at www.hid50.com I bought sets for the dipped beam on both my Blackbirds, ZZR1400's and 1200 Multistrada.
When I contacted the site recently and was informed I needed a pair of H4 light at £180 (will work as dipped/main beam).
They are not the cheepest on the market (You get what you pay for ) but these are definately quality items...put together specifically for bikes, so you don't have to hide yards of loom and the like  and not difficult to install...just be patient :hammer:
I once bought some H4's for one of my cars off fleabay...they were cheep :shit: lasted about six months.
HID's are definately work better than any aftermarket bulbs  I swear they can dry the road
I'm with mosegaard. Just ask LW how my bike lights up from the front with the Phillips H4, Bullets (http://www.bikevis.com/motorcycle-led-running-lights.html), and Cree LED (http://www.bikevis.com/motorcycle-cree-led-running-lights.html) running lights
I had HID when riding in Singapore, super powerful, but the cruising lights were yellow, now I changed it to bright white for day ride and my high beams are OK but still not as powerful as HID.
But I figured that I rarely use high beam, since I no longer ride in the Malaysian jungle !
I fitted Ring Xenon Maxo mine and they are great
The most important is to be well visible during day time, HID or xenon lights will do the job.
