Title: bit of an oil leak
Post by: Kawdolph on June 17, 2012, 02:57:07 PM
Was out for a spin today came home ,went to cover bike and noticed 2 small areas of oil on the ground so went looking it looks like shaft oil ,c0nsidering i recently had service done which included shaft splines been regreased ans shaft oil changed.hope pic loads but there wasnt a large amount and it seemed to stop but dont know if there is a seal or maybe just a little to much oil put in.Where you put in shaft oil the cap is secured and no oil dripping from there.have had another snoop and when i move the rubber boot on the shaft thats where the oil seems to be gathering and leaking from.

I had the main oil seal leak from the joint beteew the wheel and the final drive, this happened not long after I added some Activ8 friction reducer to the final drive, and the engine, the camshaft position sensor oil seal soon started leaking as well.........
      Coincidence, I don't think so..........

I will have a look and see if any oil is in the same area as yours and report back.

Well Kawdolph, I have had a look at my one, and there is no oil at all in any of the places you show, I think you will have to take it in to have it checked out for repair............ Sorry
