Title: Insurance success, a pleasant change!
Post by: Lonewolf on June 07, 2012, 08:39:40 PM
My bike insurance is due on the 17th June and I'm curently with Adelaide who are based in Belfast. Just got my renewal quote through and they decided to put up my premium by £99.96 to £399.96 despite having another years no claims although in fairness I have recently exchanged the bike from an 07 to 11 plate.
I did an online compare insurance quote thingy the other night and Swinton Bikes came out very favourable at £302.83 for a like for like policy. I rang Adelaide and told them straight that I was disappointed that they had increased the premium by almost 25% and that although I had found them to be a very professional company I wouldn't be renewing with them at that price.
They simply said that if I forwarded them the quote from Swinton they would see if their Underwiters would honour the price match, they did honour the price match and actually under cut it, nice to see that a bit of taking a stance can have a desirable impact.

Well done Mr Wolf thats exactly what I do every year. Every company tries it on by upping the price thinking you will pay what they ask for at renewal time, as I am sure most do, but if you challenge them they always end up doing what they need to do to keep your business.

Not so with car insurance though. They give you a price and generally wont budge.  :hammer:

The saving will go towards my wooden top box rack........ :mfr_lol:
