Very nice  Where did you buy it? Did make one out of a piece of aluminum (correct spelling?)
But in it looks like something the cat dragged in compared to your item

Looks like something out of Independence Day - or is it Men in Black?

Take me to your leader - my UFO is stuck on a GTR mothership

One day BMW will fit these as standard to the top of the range models, but currently they are only available on the stunning GTR.  :whistling:

Looks good Steve - better than the plassie contraption fitted to the Big K range

Chris, the rubber washer grommets are in place but the top box just wont quite sit and lock into place. It must be a cats whisker off being right.  Can these be a bit faffy, is it a question of just playing around with them until they allow the box to lock into place. I think the back two are ok, its the front two which are possibly a fraction too high still.
Obviously it needs to be a tight fit to stop any movement.

Mine was a different one - the Givi plate bolted to it for the box - Sorry.  Can't help mate

I might have to just sink the front grommets in a couple more mm's. Where's my   :hammer:

could you just file down the grommets slightly or just shave a tad off with a sharp blade

How about heating those gromets up with a hair dryer or something.  Getting them really hot and then pressing your box down.  They might mould into the right position?

Steve ... that really does look like a decent bit of kit ... and with all things hand made it looks like it was worth every Euro. Nice and solid too .. no wobbly boxes on your Gtr then .. look forward to seeing it in the flesh in 20 days time. Nice one.

ive got a link to a " how to " if anyone wants to fabricate their own, it wont look as good as this one but it will be solid aluminium and will work. You need to know how to use a woodworking  router

It would appear that this rack may look ok but it doesnt work ok. With or without the rubber bungs the top box will not fit onto the plate. I have spoken to the seller, a member on here Valerio and advised him of my problem, he came up with a solution and was even kind enough to create and send me a link to a You Tube video showing me how to resolve the problem.
Its simple really to fix, apparently I need to cut part of the lugs off at the rear of the box and then it will sit further down thereby locking the box into position. Whoa there.....cut bits of a 47ltr box up! Dont think so. Told Mr Valerio no way is that going to happen and if that was required, (a) why dont you make the plate to fit or (b) why dont you tell your customers that that is required?
He refuses to budge on his stance and refuses to refund me my dosh so if this is his stance on customer service perhaps others should be wary of purchasing items from him because it would seem that once he has your money he doesn't give a shit. Unfortunately for him I paid via Paypal so I have buyer protection and have already set the wheels in motion. I have been guaranteed by Paypal I will get my money back.
Lesson to be learnt here I think.

Perhaps this is why he has deleted some You Tube stuff etc.

Does look good though..........(although mebbe this is why BMW don't fit them to their top of the range machines  :asshole: )

ive seen him on various forums peddling his stuff, he never really contributes just continually posts sly adverts , ive warned the admin on here about him  in the past but he continues to lurk.

That is a shame .... why on earth does he not just alter his "making of the plate" ? .. then he would have happy buyers !

Its bad form to sell something as new when you know its construction is defective.
