Did you px it at the Bmw dealer?
Yes - they sell on to non BMW dealers at the agreed p/x price
Seems that BMW dealers generally get non BM products underwritten and then shift 'em out quick
That they do Roger. I was quoted a p/x about a year ago with Jeffrey's and they did the same
What does that mean, get them underwritten and then shift them out quick?
Exactly Steve. They contact a dealer who will guarantee a price. They underwrite the agreed price and you get that as your p/x.
They then ship it out to the dealer (could be an auctioner) as quick as they can to get their monies as they don't want none franchised machines at the dealership.
Its all about quick stock turn
No matter how much you love them they are still just a lump of saleable metal at the end of the day
My 07 black one is still for sale where I PX'd it down in Dorset. I got £5300 for it they are trying to sell it for £6995  . Never in a million years!!!!!
I only paid £7250 for it when I bought it two years earlier, they might move it at £6k if they are very lucky.
sounds like they are being a tad greedy Steve, if they were to ask a lower price they would/could still make profit.
They won't have sold you your lovely new one at a loss
