Title: Schuberth SRC system/cardo G4 or G9
Post by: TRIGGERHAPPY on June 05, 2012, 09:04:11 PM
Hello,I have a SRC system collar fitted to my schuberth c3 helmet, bought a Cardo G9 for my second helmet.
Do anybody have any experience with this or the G4 units.
Will I be able to be pair the gps unit to the SRC and the SRC to the G9 at the same time?
Can't try it out right now bcause my gps unit are on my bike at the workshop.
The gps and the SRC unit works perfectly together.

we went on to the  cardo bluetooth sets last year and didnt get on with them, they did work but after using hard wired autocom systems then there was no comparison. the volume levels are low, they pick up interference, they need charging , to activate the vox you have to make a very loud noise , almost shouting , this beacame a pain. With our autocom we ride with it fully open, no vox , so we can have a natural conversation, i have a button up front to turn it off when on motorways ect.

I doubt they are compatible.  The WebBikeWorld article (http://www.webbikeworld.com/motorcycle-intercoms/bluetooth-intercom.htm) mentions the lack of interoperability, but it's a few years old.

From a manufacturers point of view, it's in their interest to keep in in their closed system, so you have to buy their products (but I'm a cynic  :whistling:)

I've had a few cardo systems, the one prior to the G4 was quiet.  The G4 is loud enough.  Since moving to a Schuberth helmet I've even had to knock the volume down from just short of Maximum to about 50%.  No real problems with it, except it's large.  The boom mike broke after a year, but I just bought a replacement one.  Haven't really used it as an intercom, though the phone interface is good with legible conversations as long as you're not going stupidly fast.

They are compatible, but my worries are about if it handels more than one item.
After I posted this tread I got a mail from cardo. And after following the instructions.
And switching of and on the units and pairing them in a sertain way.
I got my mobile phone to play music in the G9 and use the G9 and the SRC as a intercom,
muting the music while speaking and back on again after stopped talking. A short delay before the music starte again.
On the G9 you can switch of the vox.Not shure if this are possible on the SRC or other cardo products.
Will try to get my gps device tomorrow to try to connect it to the SRC to check how it works.
Are going to try out different adjustmens on the intercom units when I get my bike back.
Will try to keep you up dated.

Yes!

Schubert SRC is build and based on Cardo G4 - and will 100% comp. with that. Cardo G9 "is the new kidd on the block" and is also comp. with G4 - and therefor Schubert SRC!

Many have reported problems with the coupling of SRC for TomTom Rider Pro (Urban Rider). The problem is that you try pairing via SRC - do not do it! Search for SRC / Bluetooth on the TomTom device. So it works without problems.

Besides, I always recommend Interphone!
