Nice pics....I'm no GSXR expert but I think that model/colour (pic 4) wasn't available over here...I'll stand corrected by those of greater knowledge (of which there are many ) :mfr_lol:
I too liked the look of that Gsxr ... I am not a sports bike chap but those Gsxr's do have something about them ... perhaps it's something I shall have to try one day .. test ride one just to get it out of my system and tick the box .... .. or perhaps its a midlife chrisis looming ??? :mfr_lol: :mfr_lol:
Those gsxr's are just fantastic, not as wild as you may expect. But don't get fooled,t goes like a missile when you give it some rpm's. Sad that I had to sell it,but my knees could not take it anymore. And with the right tire it was glued to the road.
Light and flickable, you don't ride these things. You dance with them. But i'm still amazed of how good the gtr are. I exspected a good tourer, and got it,but didn't expect it to be so easy to ride around the local c roads. You can really push it hard.
I rode a mates GSXR a few years ago, he'd had it modified by Quill.......... BLOODY HELL it was quick..........I handed it back after a few miles and told him my back was aching
I used to own this which I rode at bike parades, and let me tell ya it too was very, very faaaaaaast, even though its only a 250cc two stroke and 1981 vintage, it was an ex GP bike
I became to olde and BIG and it was too small for my size :mfr_lol:....I really wish I still had it

Oh lord!!! This yamaha are just fantastic. Du you have more pictures of it. I love these two stroke racers.
Miss the 80's and early 90`s with the two stroke gp racing, the guy`s specialy on the 500's where just awsome.
Rainey,Doohan,Schwantz,Gardner,Creville and others I don`t remember the names of.
The way they handled those bikes are incredible. Searc on youtube and see for your self
Trigger I have lots of others but I wouldn't want to bore the other forum members who may not be interested
I hope you like this one

Phil Reed (on the bike) and myself
If you send me your preffered e-mail address I can send a few more detailed pictures
Nice to see that these bike aren't hidden in a shed or a garage collecting dust.
Bored with picture of motorcycles???
I think most of the members of this forum can live with pic a few pitures of bikes that are owned or has been owned by forum members.
We all have good memories and a few bad from our life with motorcycles.
Maybe a picture tread for our GTR1400`s and a another for other bikes could have been a good idea?
Pictures are fun.
Not a tread but a topic, sorry
Some nice pics. I personally think the colour scheme of the GSXR is great but man, how about that Yamaha !!! Don't see those old strokers anymore.
Spent my youth on an rd250lc or lead coffin as they were known what a bike!
The st1100 was a fantastic bike too shame Honda didn't inspire us with a worthy replacement.
I agree I never tire of looking at pictures of these beautiful machines it brings back some good memories I'm not even afraid to admit I owned a cx500 :punk:
Never heard of Elsie's being called 'lead coffins' before. Don't see why they would be either.
They were unfortunately known as lead coffins because so many inexperienced riders lost there lives on them.
Still never heard them described as that and I had a lot of mates with them in their day!
Only bike I recall having a moniker like that was the original Fireblade - the widow-maker for the same reasons
The thunderace are a very underrated bike. It's heavier than the newer r-bikes,but it is fast and superstable at any speed.
Not as flickable as the gsxr. But it's no problem keeping up with most bikes on the road.Had many nice long trips alone and with passenger, and it did a great job.
A little long reach to the grips,so it is a little bit hard on the wrists.
It got wrecked by the mail-man,he backed over it. Luckily i was in my bed, sleeping
As for nick names for lethal bikes, I think the suzuki TL1000 got one to.
Cannot remember what it was. Supposed to get really bad tankslappers.
There's been many nicknames for bikes over the years, and I reckon that "Widowmaker" is the one that really paints the picture
Here's me and my lovely "Widowmaker" on a recent ride out.........I just love it...........oooohh aaaaah

Bloody 'ell Rog, ya dwarf that bike!
:mfr_lol: :mfr_lol: :mfr_lol: :mfr_lol:
Actually the picture is to blame as it is quite a big bike
But then I am quite a Big Lad :mfr_lol: :mfr_lol:
i remember some journalist making a comment about the zx12r, saying that even when parked in your garage it was plottting your death .
Wow ! Is that the 750 triple ???
yes it is Deon....1975 Vintage...nice eh
Very nice !!! And yours looks in top nick as well. Glad to see that you still ride her. What an awesome machine !!!!
