Title: Honda Man buys his first Kawasaki.

Honda Man buying his first Kawasaki.
Checked all the forums on the GTR. Ordered Black 2012. Had a change of heart, too much black- ie: wheels, grab handles, etc. Changed my order for a green one with a GT pack.
Hey-Ho, 2 weeks later the bike arrived from London on the back of a van to my home in Glasgow.
Nice handover ceremony, & away the driver went.
Took my bike for a wee test drive & felt vibration from the front brakes. Thought to myself-" can't be!"! Made sure brake discs were nice & clean, wiped down with break cleaner, removed & cleaned the pads. Another run......
Yes, fook me it's got a break judder. 3 miles on the clock.
Said to myself i would get it attended to on it's first 600 mile service locally.

Proceeded to run the bike in over the next couple of weeks. Taking it nice & easy & not going over 4000 revs. Fook me, engine vibration @ 4000 revs. Buzzing through the handlebars, put my hands to sleep!

Has been in for it's first service now & discs & pads will get changed under warranty & they're going to have a look at the engine vibration when it's in again.

How lucky am I ??
Stevie.

Welcome Stevie ... take a look through some of the recent topics here relating to these 2 " problems " !! There is plenty to read.
That aside .. fantastic colour, of course, and apart from the initial hicups I have no doubt you will love the bike .. i was a Honda man for many years and fancied a change ... after 15 months I havn't been disappointed ..

Hi Steve and welcome to the forum.

I would suggest if the problems aren't fixed immediately, then reject the bike. You're entitled to do so. If its on HP or any amount was paid by credit card you can get the finance company or CC company involved. Hopefully it won't come to that.

Do not wait till the 600 mile service.

Steve, firstly from one Steve to another, hi & welcome. Three miles on the clock and the discs are already in need if changing, that has to be a first.
I'd get them changed ASAP simply to ensure you don't lose confidence in the bike. It's a brilliant machine and you won't be disappointed with it once you get those little glitches sorted.

hi steve and welcome, nice choice on the green

for the others , what is the cause of the handlebar buzz, my 10 model does not appear to have it, so im scared to change up to a 2013model in case the new one has, has anyone had this and solved it ??

My 11 green one was a bit vibey through the bars when new, but after about 1500 miles it smoothed out  and is now lovely and vibe free with 10,000 miles on. I would just carry on running it in and I'm sure it will be fine. Keep the faith.

Brilliant machine - don't lose faith with a couple of glitches.  That said THREE miles?!!  At least mine went every 9k!

Mine never 'vibed' so can't say anything about that one!

Welcome Stevie, you wont be dissapointed with the GTR, I'm amazed that tghe brake vibes are showing so soon, its just got to be a manufacturing/component fault at that mileage

I had no vibes on my 2007/8 model it was very smooth and it had an Acro can fitted...however my 2009 model had bad vibes through the bars with the same Acro can

I'm happy to say that my current 2012 model has no engine or brake vibes.

I'm sure you will enjoy this forum as much as the GTR.
