I put on a tall original winscreen when i bought the bike last year. It did not be as good as i expected. I'm 6.3
Have been thinking a lot on how to fix the problem. Thought of buying a calsci or a cee baileys to suit my height.
But did not get to decide who I liked most.
Ended up with a laminar lip for tall gtr screen. Bought it from heroblobs. 8 days delivery to Norway. Thats ok
I could not be more happy. Looking over the edge and it's almost silent. No buffeting,I'm pretty sure that my sierra I once owned had more wind noice. This is rised to the max, when i lover the screen all the way down i get a steady wind hittin me from the top of my shoulders. This is very nice on really hot days.
At first I thought it looked a bit strange, but now I've got used to it and it isn't that bad.
One thing I don't like is it makes more movement to the screen on bumpy roads.
How do you have yours mounted - how much shows over the top of the screen?
I've just lowered mine a touch as initially I had over an inch over the top of the screen, which I think made it worse. I think the lower position is actually slightly better. Still got some showing over the top, can't be precise with measurements as I didn't come to work on the bike today.
Hi,I put my on as high as I could get it. Without altering the original fasteners. The upper fasteners are in line with the edge of the screen. Don't have the measurement, and haven't got access to my bike. It's in a workshop after I hit a roe deer the other day.
I just rembered the height of the laminar lip. 2.27" or 7cm from the top of the screen to the top of the laminar lip. This is in center. It's the same height addition as the tall screen/original screen. I may try to put it even higher when i get my bike back. Update will come.
I'm 6'4" with a long back (32" inside leg).
I have a CalSci +6" (was the XL but now is the L).
Screen down I get wind on my shoulders and above.
Screen up I get no buffeting or noise and if I hunch slightly then I get no wind noise at all.
I do wear ear plugs.
I can't recommend CalSci highly enough.
Very solid screens, don't flex, optically neutral (no distortion), well made and look good.
Pic is me with screen fully up.

Agree completely with Boomer. I am only 6' 2" but have a CalSci XL with which I am extremely pleased.
At 6'6" I tried the newer CalSci XL and just didn't like it. It definitely looked optically very good though. I had some odd booming noise (may have not been helped by my helmet which I've recently changed) at fully up and lots of turbulence fully down. Couldn't find anything useful in between. I also think the sheer size of it put me off and I got distracted by the top edge of the screen!
I'm not being negative about them, because they definitely look good, are well made, you get good customer service from Heroblobs (who gave me a full refund, no quibbles, for the unmarked screen). I've found over my brief riding time that finding the screen that's right for you can be a bit tricky. Also being really tall means you've often got to compromise more and have fewer screen options!
Currently I'm running with a Laminar Lip on the OEM screen for a 2010 GTR.
I know what you mean about the Calsci XL screen; well made and now problems. I've decided to take mine off and put the original screen back on. Can't put my finger on it but it just doesn't do it for me. I'm beginning to think I'm not tall enough at 5'10" to feel the full benefit. If anyone on here wants to purchase it let me know, otherwise it's going on e-bay when I get back from Scotland in a week's time.

I'm 6'0" 32" inseam with the same combination and very happy with it. Fully up and slightly hunched I get a full " cone of silence " fully down plenty of breeze to the helmet for warmer weather, in traffic etc. I usually have it about 2/3 raised on the open road and find no buffetting and fairly quiet although I do ride with earplugs for anything longer than a quick run to the shops.
Also found the after sales service from Laminar Lip exceptionally good when I did some minor cosmetic damage to mine when fitting it :embarrassed:

Grest and anyone else.
Whatever screen you buy here is a really good way to determine what is the ideal "touring" screen for you.
Sports riders will want shorter screens.

For me this works out at approx 7-8" taller than the 2008 stock screen.
I bought the +6" (biggest available at the time) and it's spot on as I lean towards the sportier side of the bike.
