Title: Speed Bleeders
Post by: Kwikasfuki on May 24, 2012, 02:56:49 PM
Anyone use speed bleeders? I'd be interested in knowing if they are worth the investments. From what I've seen they make bleeding the clutch and brakes much easier

I have the Motrax Big Bleeder, you are welcome to use it if you wish. It does make the job extremely simple and very fast.

Bleeding brakes can be a pain as you don't want to draw air into the system. The Speed Bleeders don't draw air back in, meaning its easy to bleed the brakes and clutch

I haven't had to do the new GTR yet by with the old GTR it averaged at about ten minutes per line. My local Kawasaki dealership wanted to charge me an hours labour(£70) per line as that's how long they claimed it would take their mechanic to do the job.

I use one of theses makes the job quick and simple   http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Mityvac-MV8020-Automotive-Tune-up-Brake-Bleeding-Kit-Silverline-GO-NEXTDAY-3-99-/190658373750?pt=UK_Hand_Tools_Equipment&hash=item2c641fe876
used it on all of my bikes over the years with excellent results everytime. when I used it on the zzr1400 due to it having a.b.s, I was a bit concearned it would be a bastard to bleed if air was to enter the system. when I check with my local kawasaki dealer, they said kawasaki use a sealed a.b.s pump so there was no need to bleed the a.b.s pump, if air dose enter the system, just bleed the same as none a.b.s. however this I can't comment on because I made sure the reservoirs did not run dry. I've not change the brake fluid on the gtr1400 yet but will be doing soon! as anyone change the brake fluid and let air through and needed to bleed the a.b.s pump or did you just bleed the system through the calipers.
