How you doing all.  I got my 2009 GTR last week and have obviously booked top weather to go with it.  Bit of bad planning on my behalf as I was in Newcastle over the weekend on a stag do and only managed to recover for a ride out on Tuesday.  Traded my R1 in for the beast with a view of being more sociable and encouraging my wife on the back.  Have just got ourselves an Autocom so if anyone has a tip or two on wiring or placement I'd be grateful.  Anyway, safe riding and hopefully see out and about.

Hello RR and welcome ... I am sure you have already seen there are plenty of good chaps here ready for a bit of fun and banter ... I know nothing about Autocoms but there has been a thread on that very subject, written by the boffins on this forum (  ) and there shall be someone soon who will post you a link to the said topic .. can someone please do that ??
Anyway ..nice to have you on board ... must have been some stag do !!!

Hi Rosendal Rider and welcome to the forum.

I'm glad you bought the weather with you cause Rusty certainly didn't.

Enjoy the ride

Hi there, another Northern member I see. I've dug out a link to an autocom fit, have a look at this. http://www.gtr1400.co.uk/forums/index.php/topic,101.0.html (http://www.gtr1400.co.uk/forums/index.php/topic,101.0.html)
If you get stuck I only live in Bradford I'd be more than happy to come over and help you, or vice versa.

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome!  Thank you Mr Wolf for the thread regarding the Autocom and the offer of assistance.  I liked your photos which have helped a lot.  Think my Autocom is slightly bigger than yours as it won't quite fit in the tool case with the lid down.  How did you manage to take those blasted screws out? Anyway, as an aside, does anyone remember the circa '78 KH250?  I was talking to someone the other day about how I've gone to Kawasaki......what a noise!

Those anti theft screws came out with the assistance of a pair of mole grips. They were what we call a proper pain in the arse.  :mfr_lol:
