Post by: Kawdolph on January 10, 2011, 06:52:43 PM
Hi to everyone .This year i am hoping to pick up a gtr ,at the moment am dealing with a dealer in the uk who has a 2008 model with 9000 miles on it for 7995,i live in ireland and he is willing to take my cb 1300 with 25000 miles on it and give me 3000 px,reaon for change youngest son has decided he likes biking and wants to get on as pillion.Do you think the price and px price are a good offer ,dosent seem to be a whole lot of extras on the gtr so will have to get topbox and rack at least.

Hi and welcome to the forum.

I don't know what the Irish market is like, but I purchase my bike 18 months ago on an 08 for £7800. Is the 7995 in Euros? Mine came with heated grips and protective strip as extras I think.

I've not found the need to get a topbox as the side panniers are more than big enough. It is an excellent bike. Mine is used almost on a daily basis for commuting and is reliable and relaxing.

irish market not great for gtrs ,have been researching alot in the last few months and believe me prices in the uk are all in and around that at the moment, top box would be for dual purpose of carry stuff plus backrest for younger son.

Howdy, welcome to the site.

I think the PX price is pretty good as is the purchase price of the GTR. I had a CB1300s on an 06 plate which I sold for a similiar price with half the mileage yours has. Then middle of last year I bought a black GTR, (the best) ;D 08 model with heated grips and ABS for £7250. The GTR had about 7500 miles on it. It did come with a largish Givi top box which I sold because I thought it looked out of place but I have recently bought another Givi box albeit slightly smaller than the original for just the odd few nic nacks on trips.

As NB says the GTR is an excellent machine, you will not be disappointed.
