I seem to remember some years ago that a twin pipe set up was possible on the GTR
Maybe it could have involved a ZZR collector and intermediate pipes etc.,
Does any one remember or have any pictures ?
Yeh you right ,there was some pics floating about ,when i was getting the cans fitted to my bike the guys at quill looked into it but had to admit defeat due to one thing or another , i think you lose the centre stand but not 100% sure on that ,
Try this Olde, it might give you some ideas

Daaaaamn!! :gunsmilie: i bet that would sound good, baffles out, full chat through the Hatfield tunnel ...oooh yeah :punk:
Looks good - but is the centre stand fouled? It looks low, or is it just the connector pipes angle that gives the impression?
Must agree with the comment 'it should have looked like that out of the factory' though!

Dual Muzzy exhausts, deffo on my 'would like' list
Still has a centre stand I think
Nice too - quite like the smuggler box as well!
I think any twin pipe system looks good to be honest. Darker (carbon or black sleeved) look better than chrome/silver.
To think though, in the 70/80's we used to swap the twin pipes on bikes for 'sportier' 4 into one Motad et-al, now we're discussing the opposite! Is it era or age?!! :mfr_lol:
There's a few bikes on the COG site with different set-ups, even twin 'stock style' tatty launchers look OK, I like the symmetry of twin pipes

ooooooh.... i think i've just had an accident in my underpants......i may have to go and have a cold shower,,,,,, and then a lie down....in a dark room...
ZZR1400 headers can be fitted (pre-2009 ZZRs).
You need to modify the centrestand for it to work with the headers.
You need to manufacture a bracket for the left silencer.
Otherwise, there is a the Muzzy system if you have many many $$$.
Very nice but silly money.
Plenty of pics and vids out there and a couple of how-to's on the ZGGTR and cog-online forums.
So what's the attraction? :ohplease:
Just more weight and more bits that need cleaning, can rust or get damaged.
TBH I've always been a 4in1 fan myself and never owned a bike with more than one end can. :2guns:
A well tuned 4-2-2 sounds better and gives better mid-range than a 4-2-1 like the OEM GTR1400 system.
I fully expected the GTR to come with a 4-2-2 as the FJR, ST, and older GTR1000 did.
4-2-1 is normally used on sportier bikes.
That said, modern digital EFI systems can probably tune around that.
Kawasaki almost certainly wanted to show off their pretty shaft system so they made the other side of the bike :shit:ugly by fitting a trianglar dinosaur turd.
I reckon the twin pipe set up looks so much better, it makes the bike more balanced, I might have to look into that.... cost could be a deciding factor though
Just my 10 penneth
:agree: The bike looks a lot more balanced, especially when the paniers are removed
Reminds me of the question why the VW Beetle had two exhaust pipes?
Well, have you ever seen a wheelbarrow with only one handle?
