Anyone fitted a Quill EV2 exhaust to their bike? I've seen them for £165 which seems very cheap as most aftermarket exhausts start at £250+. Had a look at a few reviews and they seem postive. So, I phoned them up and they have offered to fit it, as they are not too far away, and put the bike on the Dyno at no extra cost. I'm now asking is it too goo to be true. Appreciate the benefit of other experience.
Hi Gresty
I have a Evo2 highlevel carbon oval fitted to my 97 Vfr she sounds just great as it pops away with baffle out  and also got Quills fitted to Gtr,(pretty sure they evo2 but cant find receipt) they fitted mine no problem, only problem was making the link pipe fit ,well when i say problem i mean they just had to make it while i waited as they all hand done.dont recall it going on dyno but good for you if it does, i personally like the cans ,and have had others go to them on the strength of them,
oh Another plus besides being just a few miles away is they dont need any re-jetting
Thanks Slane that's good to know. Will now get rid of that potato launcher
Quill exhausts always had a good reputation, so I can't see why you shouldn't be pleased with a pipe from them
Maybe you can post some pics when its fitted ?
I could not do without my Muzzy's dual exhaust...

now..............thats how a GTR should look
Any chance of more pics showing the collector box and maybe some detail of how easy or not they were to fit ?
Oh God ... I think I,m going to be sick. :mfr_lol: :mfr_lol:
Had a Quill on my ZX12R, sounded the dogs & looked great.

I do not have any more close up pix aside from the below one taken from the left side, fairly easy to fit, aside from the left side bracket, the main stand had to be modified but Muzzy did provide one for me. Otherwise, nothing to report, Muzzy did an excellent job. But PCV is a must to regulate your fuel consumption, as mine went up 30% without it !!

What was that again with the wheel barrow and the two handles? :mfr_lol:
I reckon the GTR looks gorgeous from the left as it is.
The right isn't that great regardless which end can you fit.
One spud launcher is bad enough, to fit a second one is just plain :censored:.
Before I bought the GTR I was seriously looking at the Sprint ST - mainly because it doesn't have one of those ugly cans at the back!
In the end I tried the Sprint GT but wasn't impressed - far too expensive for what you get and butt-ugly compared to the ST mainly because of that xorst.
And to all you noise-freaks out there :listencarefully: I don't see the point in putting stuff into my ears when I go for a ride to prevent myself from going deaf while subjecting others to excessive noise. :ohplease:
And if I have to listen to loud noise I actually prefer rock music.
Nah, the bike should be dual exhaust but not with the potato launchers
As for loud exhaust I find it creates awareness in other drivers

As with everything you do, simply ask yourself what the world would be like if everybody else would be doing it too.
A lot of thing don't seem so funny any more after that but rather stupid.

Not really. I just have a problem with stupid people, :asshole: s and inconsiderate and childish behavior.
If you reckon behaving stupidly and/or inconsiderately - aka like a twat - is fun - fine - everybody is entitled to his opinion.
No need to get abusive, though, just because I don't share your idea of fun.
My idea of fun might be to repeatedly ride past your house at 3 o'clock in the morning with a race pipe without baffles.
'Specially' if after the 3rd pass you come running out of the house in your yamas totally pissed off and screaming your 'ead off. :gunsmilie:
Actually, when I think about it, that would be absolutely hilarious.

I tend to agree with Mecki -- wtf is it about the 'look at me - I have a loud motorbike " ??? - it might be an age thing but I find myself turning into a cross between Victor Meldrew and Alf Garnett more and more these days . name any subject and I can moan about it ---- not 'twist' mind -- only women do that !!!

For me, tis not about what everone else hears, a loud pipe is for my own enjoyment, the sound of a high performance engine running though a decent permormance pipe is like the best symphony ever :gunsmilie: .....
Listening to all the different tones is wonderous, the crackle on the over-run, the way the revs hold then rise as one exits a corner.... ahh :punk:
Or of course you could be one of those who listens to an ipod..... which by the way... several tests have proved lowers your concentration levels by as much as 30%

I can just about listen to an Ipod when reading a book sat in the sun with a long tall drink by the sea. Unfortunately I tend to concentrate on the music and end up losing my place on the page. There is nothing more musical than a set of pipes, any pipes, 2 or 4 stroke, 1,2,3,4 or 6 cylinders properly set up and on song, or maybe a V8 large block Chevvy in a Formula 1 stock car. My kids still take the piss when I tell them to shut it and listen to the music. They know there will be a bike along any time soon, usually a barking v twin.
And yes I will soon be buying a decent can for the GTR, just not found the one I like yet, and I can't justify the price of a Muzzi dual set up. I'm with you Mogs, and I ain't a kid or a hooligan. Well maybe just a little eh.
You all forgot to mention the aural beauty of a Lancaster, Squadron of Spitfires, P51, Even an F-16,
Wes Cooley Yoshimura Suzuki etc

I run a "louder" can but I do so in a considerate manner.
OEM cans are too quiet. Cars get seen, mostly, but for bikes, being heard is usually more effective.
When riding in town I keep the rpm down so as not to upset too many people.
When on the open road I will give it some beans and if I want to let someone know I am there I will blip the throttle.
Below 5k rpm the Two Brothers is not that loud.
Above 5k is turns to a scream/howl.
Late at night I also try to keep the rpm down.
If you have ever been woken up by someone with a mobile-disco/cherry bomb/boy-racer mobile then you will know how people feel when you rock up with your race cans on full bore. Think on that the next time you get woken by a cat-fight or drunken shouting or whatever.
Pictures of the Quill exhaust as requested by someone earlier.
I think it looks OK; althoug a carbon can would look better maybe. It sounds good, but not too load to annoy the more conservative amongst you.
I've not fitted an aftermarket exhaust before to compare it to. The bike feels a little more responsive on the throttle. Is that my imagination or the exhaust? Overall, for £165, I'm pleased with it.
