Hello all,
MC Enterprises in the US have, in conjunction with the GTR fanatics forum, designed a set of crash bars for the 2010 - 2012 models. They have set up a group buy which will be open until the 31 st May but would like orders in soonest so they can schedule production. They are IMHO the best combination of affordability and appearance.

I like the look of those, but at 300 dollars with the 25% discount rate and the postage which has got to be at least £50 thats adventure bar money at £200, the postage kills it for us brits but im gonna email him and ask the cost anyway
Let us know on the postage, they do indeed look good.

It would be more cost effective to ship one parcel to the uk. There's import duty (5% of the total cost inc shipping) and VAT (20% on top of the final total) that needs to be considered as well. Also the handling fee
$300 + $50 (shipping) = $350
£217 at current exchange rate
+ 5% import = £227.85
+ 20% VAT = 275.42
+ £15 handling fee = £288.42
If one parcel was shipped and depending on the number of buyers, there would be a saving made there but I reckon it'd still come to around the £250 mark

dont forget the 25% group buy discount , you are probably right about the vat but ive had a few parcels from the states , my rear peg hangers and my cruise control that they didnt charge vat on,
but maybe they slipped in under the radar ?
still not worth it and a PITA to send back if there is a fault / quality issue/fit problem ect
I wonder if they sell the back ones separately since I have already R&G Adventure bars and am quite happy with those.
you can of course negate the need for any crash protection by using some of these.
or alternatively powder coat some scaffold poles!!
they are truly awful, why would anyone do that to their bike?!
:agree: I was thinking that but didnt want to say :innocent:
:agree: Fugly
:agree: +1

The bars fitted on that GTR were on there for a reason....
They were showing the difference of ABS on a bike to one without ABS on a skid pan...
If you notice the ground is covered in plastic that they wet for the said purpose...
Come on guys... I thought you were all clued up on these sorts of things? Does it take a woman to teach you otherwise? :mfr_lol:
- me thinks the boys are pulling appendages ...
.
Ahhhhhhh... :mfr_lol:
Actually I quite like the look of these Canyon bars, they won't interfere with my size 12 boots on either the gear or brake lever, and Ryan from the company who makes them has said he will do the front bars inc postage to me in the UK for 340USD which runs out at about £220
I am tempted so very much, thinking hat on time.
