I have just purchased 2 sets of pads for both calipers for £25.99 excellent value.
The pads are Golden Fren and you can review the write up for them on the internet, and they get excellent test results and write up.
Got these via E bay from dealer who can be contacted direct on www.motorcyclebrakesdirect.com or on 01992 679048
Saved a bomb and researched the product before I bought them to ensure they met the highest spec.
Which ones did you get exactly? I just googled some reviews and they weren't too complimentary
I had a set of GoldFren pads for my GTR1000 and they were awful.
They were noisy, they scored the discs quite badly, they lasted half as long as the EBC HHs they replaced and I was glad when they wore out. I sincerely hope you have a better experience.
Personally I won't buy them again unless I hear otherwise from lots of other people.
I've never had a bad experience with EBC HHs.
I have Ferodo front pads on the 1400 at the moment and I won't be buying those again either.
The OEM pads lasted 25k, EBCs lasted 22K. The Ferodos have 2k on them and already look half worn and they are almost as noisy as the GoldFrens were.
I have got the Ceramic Carbon Sintered pads.
The write ups were

www.goldfren.com Which I agree is there own site so maybe not to be viewed impartially.
www.motorcyclesafetynews.com This gives a good write up.
Finally, www.eurotred.com.au
I will try them and see.
I have now done 150 miles on these, a lot on the motorway and rural roads, and they seem fine. I am happy I saved quite a few quid and the performance and breaking does not seem any different so for the moment a thumbs up from me. I will be riding about 1000 miles in France in two weeks time so will let you know how they perform,
Just back from France did 1400 miles not a problem on them. Will look to replace rear pads with same make.
Well this has been an interesting read for me, I've been on a bit of a panic these last couple of days as I thought I had something wrong with my discs.
I've just had 4 days in France and just before I went I noticed a very slight pulsing/ABS kicking in through the brake lever and pedal.
I have read on here about discs warping at a young age and I have just clocked up 18,000.
So I have just been to test all discs for warping and found them all spot on with the tiniest of tolerance not worth worrying about.
I then wondered why I was getting this feeling through the controls and noticed that the discs were really badly scored and that I had hardly anything left on the rear pads that the eye can see and hardly anything on the front pads.
And the make is Goldfren from Busters.
I have had nearly 6000 out of a set.
So how was the French trip then ?
It was mentioned to me yesterday that one way to stop the pulsing is to ensure the disc is floating on the silver button thingy's... how you clean them up and get them all floaty again is another matter ...so if anyone has a suggestion that works :ohplease:
Forget that one... sorted!
Just replaced fronts again after 7000 miles and went again for same make.
I have also just replaced the rear pads as well, and again for the first time (Rear) used the Goldfren.
7000 miles from a set of pads!!!
Now you know why they are cheap.
I get over 20,000 from my EBCs and I am a big heavy feller with a very heavy right wrist.
Set of EBC HH front pads for the 1400 costs around £85 delivered from here
