Had a blast around North Wales on Sunday, wet and windy as per, my mate called into Woods at Abergele, and there was a demo Triumph 'Explorer' 1200 shaft drive bike just sitting there looking at me, threw me leg over it and, to be perfectly honest, it felt just about right, got quite exited with meself, anyone want to lend me 12 grand, i'll pay ya back, honest..... xx
I really am curious about the new 1200. Might go for a test ride and look see.
Deep down inside I want a British bike, wonder if the 1200 could be the one to swing me back to a Triumph after 35 years of Jap bikes.
The bike has a 'snatchy' throttle.....apparently
MCN have given it a good write up last week ... a 3 day trek up north and into Scotland ... part of their " stay in England this summer ' campaign ... they rate it very well.
:agree: Very tempted, really enjoyed my Speed Triple (great engine), need to get a test ride I think
One of the trainers in our RoSPA group bought one recently and turned up to Squires in Leeds on it last Sunday for a group ride/training session. To be fair it looked ok, but not my style of machine. She was still getting used to it but seemed quite infatuated with it. Appparantly it has cruise control :sleep1:
MCN will love it this month and hate it next, they're a bit fickle like that :mfr_lol:
I wouldn't like to have to clean one after a 300 mile ride in filthy weather, some of the nooks, and crannies look like they would be impossible to access. I can see that bike being a complete nightmare to try and keep in mint condition.

Seems like they failed with their stay in England campaign then :mfr_lol: :mfr_lol:

A 1200 triple with shaft drive could draw me back to the Hinckley factory. Having had a 1050 Sprint St for three years I miss the soul of the triple. There rumoured to be a Trophy model coming out in the near future too
What, this one?

Looks too much like a BMW for my taste, but as always I shall reserve judgement until it's been Boomer-Thrashed.
Thats the one, shall wait and see what it looks like when it hits the streets as the finished version :biker3:
Spot on Mr Boomer .... looks just like a BM ... but quite nice though !
I can see areas where triumph seem to have taken a leaf outa the GTR design manual ....also it looks too much like a K1300 GT :embarrassed:
If a GTR and a BMW 1300 had a child, that what it would look like.
Its got potential. Wonder what the final cut will look like.
It looks ok from the side, but from head on it looks as ugly as an otters arse. :listencarefully: from the front it looks :shit:
