Title: 1st service cost
Post by: seniorminnion on April 24, 2012, 11:52:04 PM
Just had 600 mile service done by M&S Newcastle  - was expecting a £225 bill since that's what is on their website and apparently is the official Kawasaki recommended price.  Was pleasantly surprised with a bill of £137 !  ---- so well done M&S   --- though I'll reserve any more glowing praise til I see what happens with them contacting Kawasaki regarding my poorly fitting panniers !

I was just £50 at the start of the month.

It was part of Kirkcaldy Kawasaki's deal when I bought the bike.

I think they do this deal for all new bikes. Their associate shops for Honda and Suzuki are the same.

Some dealers are offering the servicing package now, Smartys new VFR will get a 3 year service and breakdown option for a fixed fee.

my 1st service (600) mile's was a grand total of
NETT TOTAL   £78.12
V.A.T.            £15.62

TOTAL            £93.7

strange that they should all vary from dealer to dealer
one would have thought it was a fixed price.

alf's worthing, seem to be cheap on the 1st one.

Variance from dealer to dealer is most likely diue to different hourly charge out rates.

Fixed price servicing would be good in aiding budgetting

My advice would be, that when you buy a bike, make sure you get the first service thrown in for parts only..... or in its entirety.....
