A pal of mine is considering the purchase of a Z1000 SX.. I was wondering has anyone on here got any info or feedback about them
Just a thought, after all you are such a wise bunch
Check out the zx14r site there are some unkind comments about the Z1000sx
Coman
Not on a personal note but at the dealers 2 days ago and he had 4 on display ... 3 were sold as were ALL 4 of his ZZR's ... what recession ?
Looks like a nice bike one has to say
i had a 2011 z1000sx for about 12/13 month's & p/x'd it for a new GTR,i put carbon akra's on it.a double bubble dark tint screen, ermax rear hugger, looked good,it was a little on the light side & the seat was not realy fit for purpose,i put up with it till i took a gtr out for a test ride,I HAD TO HAVE ONE,i had the tourer with abs & hard pannier's,i decided not to have the pannier's fitted, the tubular frame's which hold the pannier's was you could say unsightly,i think it's more like a 1000cc SPORT'S BIKE,i done chichester to cornwall on it & after a couple of hour's i had to get off,it wasn't good for my joint's,that
is my 2p worth,i wont rush out & get another, probably suit someone younger,i'm 52 year's young, feel younger whilst on the gtr,the positive thing about the sx,it went well.i dont normaly chop & change my bike's that often,my bike before the z1000sx was a yamaha xjr1300,which i had for 9 year's,i was having running problem's with it,hense the z1000sx.
the bloke who purchased my z1000sx,got hold of me on their owner's club, asking if i knew about the ABS light staying on
thanks for your comments...I'll pass them on to my chum
I fancied trying one out until I sat on one and discovered they are not really made for tall people. My knees we resting against a pointy / sharp part of the fairing plastics.
I went down to the Kawasaki shop about a year ago to have a test ride on one of those.
And walked out having signed for a GTR instead! :mfr_lol:
We had one on fleet last year.
Brilliant machine - if you want something sporty, but that will tour as well it's spot on.
Rides really well, great engine, reasonable protection, comfortable enough.
Sort of bike that would suit someone moving from sports to more touring, or tourers that fancy something sportier.
Good all rounder.
Done to a budget but really capable machine.
Sort of bike you can ride down to the holiday location, take off the luggage then enjoy in 'sports' mode on the twisties.

Must say I find it a very impressive bike. Particularly when you factor the price into it too.
At 3k less than our beasts it can't be compared before anyone starts!
Tell him to get one - he won't be disappointed :biker3:
Here's the one i had,look's great.

ooooh thats the dogs kahooonas Tapps
My pal is apparently doing the deal next week, but is waiting for an ABS version which are not in stock at the mo
:agree: Good looking bike, great for a blast - the performance is not too far off what used to be considered pure sports bike territory, obviously not as comfy as the GTR, if I could afford a second bike this would be on the short list.
Great colour too
Get your mate to check out the deals at Colchester Kawasaki, they had a couple of 2011 models with special prices last time I popped in there.
He'll need to visit MCT or similar for some suspension mods of course, but a great bike to ride on day trips etc.
Thanks Nigel... he text me this afternoon to say he's ordered a GREEN :mfr_lol: ABS model which he will have to wait a while before it arrives.
he's all excited....I dont blame him really.....mind you the Black is Kinda cool (did I just say that ) :mfr_lol:
