Totally agree with you. This just reinforces exactly what I was saying a few weeks ago when I tried to spend mucho dollars on a newer GTR, nobody local was interested even though they had stock.  :censored: unbelieveable!!

It would be too much to hope that the lazy wheel dealers read Mogs morning rant  :nono:

Maybe a letter to the manufactures ?    :nono: Waste of "breath".

Great rant though  :mfr_lol:

 :single fuck: 'em!

Besides, why do ya wanna ride the VFR???? YOU TRAITOR!!!  :mfr_lol:

Since you haven't placed yourself on the Member Map I cannot advise which dealer to try.
I have heard decent things about Essex Honda (Chelmsford) and some other dedicated Honda dealers.
The "chain" dealers I have always found to be utter shite.
Sorry guys, I'm sure there are exceptions, but I have never encountered one.

i have once again chosen to walk amongst you....

Oh I do enjoy riding in London  :hammer:  ...anyho got down to Daytona, nice salesman, pity he has no idea wtf he is talking about.. I was there to have a go on the ZZR 1400 just in case Smarty wants the GTR... When asked how the new ZZR differs from the old he confessed not to know too much about bikes...   :censored:
New ZZR..in a word Horrible!!! not sure what they have done to it but the damn thng is sooooo stiff there is no feed back from the road.. and then there was the power delivery..... I'm waiting....... .... no really i do want some power.. :whistling:  ..ok i give up.

And now we come to the Honda...... oh my,,,,  this is good ... very very good...I shall say no more as this is a GTR site, but I think we may be ordering one..... I have to go and have a lie down................ in a dark room

Check with Doble in Coulsdon? they were doing VFRs at £7995 new!! Automatics I believe but worth a try for a deal on a manual surely!

I can also recommend the Honda boys in Chelmsford, can check with them if you want?

Best of luck.

I have heard it said from wiser head (than mine) that the VFR lost its way as did the Pan.

The Pan's well past its prime, but there are very few bikes that i have been able to  deck out on me knee within the first couple of mins, the Tuono was one, the VFR is now another.. :gunsmilie:

hi mogster,,,
gotta agree with you on this mate!,
the vfr 1200 was what i had been fancying for about a year,so i was scouring mcn,e bay,and loads of bike dealers for one. didnt want a new one due to the huge depreciation in the 1st year,,,tried 3 different demos,,,,,,absolutly loved it,style, ride position, the bike is self (in my eyes!) was faultless!,rode fantastic, very very responsive, and as you said, could be thrown around was very little effort. scoured about everywhere, but the extras were astromical!!!!,the panniers were tiny compared to my old vfr 800,no center stand, heated grips etc,,,so i wanted to try the gtr,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,within 50yds,,,,,,,,decision made!!!! :smartass: :smartass: :smartass:,so,so many standard equiptment with the gtr,so a few weeks later got myself a 08 plate in black, with all the trimmings, top box, remus carbon exhaust, power commander, larger screen, zumo cradle, metal rack for the top box, serviced up,with 470MLS, on it since the guy bought it,he had split with his mrs!!!!
so i bought it for less than a new vfr 800!!!,
and ever since im loved up with it

Smarty does like the GTR, but she also wants sumit to do track days as well.... now i have suggested getting two bikes (like me  :smartass:) but she wants the continuity of the same bike.

Oh and before anyone says.... yes I know you can do track days on the GTR... Snetterton 300 last year...  :mfr_lol: soooo very funny riding round sports bikes :punk: scrutineers wouldn't let me leave the luggage on though  :gunsmilie:

Mogs, maybe you could consider an out and out track day bike, which being non road legal would be cheaper and easier to maintain

You would need a trailer to transport it though, but that's not an issue

Yup ... i do have a trailer, and a genny, and tyre warmers, and a tent thingy, and a wife that says NO!!!  :mfr_lol:

For she knows the slippery slope of the ex-racer  :ninja:... tis ok to go on a couple of Track days a year, that just eases the itch, but if i get a track day bike I guarantee you I'll be racing again within a year
