Just got back from the cinema after watching :mfr_lol: Headhunter, a Norwegian thriller hyped up to be as good as Girl With The Dragon Tattoo. Well it was a good film but nowhere near as good as the Swedish trilogy it is being compared with. Lots of twists and turns and worth seeing. But Christ is the cinema expensive now! £16 for two of us, last time I went I'm sure it was 1/6. If you remember 1/6 you are an old git like me.

What no concession for you Mr ChrisB? Obviously, your other half would be too young for a reduction.
Headhunter:
Trying to guess the plot from the title. Is it about a crazed Danish Recruitment Consultant who, having read one too many works of fiction, (CVs that is) installs a Sweeney Todd type chair in his interview room and drops them into his "bacon" curing plant if they over embellish their experience.
Bente, pale and interesting but vegitarian, media studies graduate, picks up the faint aroma from the pavement "grill " outside his Manpower franchise office and her suspicions are aroused .....................
Yep! I think I read the book :mfr_lol:
I think CINEWORLD do a membership card thingy wotsit ... £16 a month direct debit ... go and see as many films as you like when you like ... no restrictions.... that's good value for a film goer
:agree: with you Chris, £16 has put me off going again but as its 30 years since I last went suppose I won't be missing much. I must be an old git as I can remember an Orange Maid for 6d
I always hated the cinema. Seats are too damned small for my fat arse, and nowhere near enough legroom.
The local (Basildon) cinema has "premium seats" that are better, but more expensive.
I just wait until it hits Sky Movies but may even cancel that soon as only watching about 2 movies a month.
I enjoy Lovefilm Instant. They have a reasonable "world cinema" Library.
I don't have a TV with online connectivity but I am happy watching on my laptop.
30 day" free "trial available although they do make you pay to watch some of the films (and you have to pay for lunch).
