Title: Never be stranded again.
Post by: Lonewolf on December 09, 2010, 08:20:13 PM
Not bike related at all but this might be helpful to anyone, who like me over the last week couldn't get their car moving due to the snow.

I've just collected my snow socks from the Vauxhall dealership just outside Skipton, (just as the snow's thawing). Have a look at the website link and the You Tube video, if they work as well as that I'll be well chuffed.

An alternative to snow chains and very easy to put on the tyres. I wonder if they'll fit on the bike.... 8)

Stupid me I forgot to put the link on.... ::)

Looks pretty good, love the gloves. Looks like something you would birth a cow with hahaha

I put snow tyres on my car this year, wow what a difference. So far they have been unstoppable. I tried the steepest hills around Rawdon and there's some proper steep ones!
4 tyres 250 notes but should last 3 seasons at least I reckon, I don't do many miles but I like to go out playing ;D

My wife has snow tyres on her Fiesta and I have to agree they are better than I expected.  My cars a dog in snow so I thought I'd try these snow socks. NB, it would be an entertaining concept if you could use them on bike tyres, are you volunteering to give it a go?  ;)

No need to - the snow has melted. Might even take the bike out tomorrow!

I ran my bike on idle today for about 30 mins. Fitted the EXO2 heat controller so I'm pretty much good to go. Was going to do the rear hyperlites but then it got cold
