well I I've only ever used the car wash and shampoo with warm water, but I wash it down first applying softly and let it soak the bugs and shit off, then lighlty wipe of while rinsing with cold water, then use a clean shammy leather to wipe the streaks off. it dosen't matter how carefull you are you will still get light scratchers or swirl marks  I know, but :shit: happens  also a tip..! to leave the screen in the "up position" for cleaning when the ignition is off, just raise the screen while the ignition is on, then hold the button in the up position while you turn the ignition off, the screen will then stay in the fully up position so you can clean the lower part where "otherwise" the screen would cover this part in the down position  if that makes sense..!! lol

My method is just the same as used by 2Kwaks, but I finish off with a wax polish ( turtle wax ) but any hard or liquid wax will give a good result.

never tried waxing the screen, suppose I've allways been concerned about "tarnishing" the screen, if that's the word? but if you use it and there's no problem, then why not..!

Avoid class cleaning chemicals like the plague even bug removers.................lots of cold water.

It seems that the screen material varies by manufacturer and AM makers.  Some are more sensitive than others to clouding.

Leave a damp cloth on it when you get in. Next day just washes off. Saves all that pouncing around.

Wet screen,  squirt of fairy liquid(other washing up liquids are available) rub onto lather with hand damp kitchen roll placed on top leave to soak whilst cleaning rest of bike then just wash off hose. A good coat of polish with soft cloth job done
