Title: Autocom placement
Post by: Ziderman on April 02, 2012, 03:17:36 PM
Where is best place to site Autocom as I am getting too much unsupressed noise. It's strapped to main unit under seat at mo , which I think is the problem. Thought about the tool box, but got feeling some one else had same problem there too.

Mine is in the toolbox and it works spot on, i took out the screws at the bottom and replaced them with normal stainless steel ones, cut slightly the ends to allow the cables to come out and it works like a dream, and its close to the power supply from under the rear end.

Hi, it depends on which autocom unit you have, I placed an autocom unit in the toolbox, not sure which model it was now but it was something.... SuperPro @ £300, constant buzzing from one of the speakers. Binned that one off and bought the Atocom Logic 1, put that in the toolbox, never had a problem with it.

Be honest I swear by the Autocom & never had this problem before. I tried tool box an horrible noise. But I have shifted it a bit further over than it was & now no noise. I do think they are making them a little complicated now.

Toolbox for my Starcon Digi......I understand that wrapping the unit in tin foil can help, but haven't had the need to do so myself

I'ts an Active-duo, thats not to old fashioned is it?. I'ts wired into the bike properly and works a treat. I can hear the clerk of works (Lyn) talki - no screaming very clearly. Do you know I never realized that she knew so many words that are  :censored:, fortunately she is an older crock than me (I'm 64 ya know) so she doesn't get her leg over very often these days :whistling:, but when she does the extra pair of eyes is very handy, and the running commentary from the pillion seat goes something like "Whats that dozy  :censored: doing" or "He hasn't  :censored: seen us"or "For  :censored: sake, swiftly followed by "Has he got a  :censored: licence". All very entertaining I'm sure you will agree. Now then where were we  oh yes Auto-com, yes very good indeed.
