Gents, in order to save doing any inadvertant damage to anything how easy is the power socket to remove.
I want to wire in my Tom Tom charging mount to it :ohplease:

No need to do that. Wire it to the accessory leads under the left panel.

I normally take off the whole left panel when I'm working there. Its easy enough. 4mm and 5mm hex should be all you need to remove the panel.

I won't sell the screen on till you're happy with it. Hudds uni - there's where I went to as well. Small world! Do you know what day?

This mod is something I'll be doing tomorrow afternoon. As before though connecting it up to the accessory leads in the rubber boot. Its simply the best way to do it.

Its a piece of cake to access, I manage even with my sausage sized fingers to plug into it without removing the panels.

Just make sure that your connections, you will need a male for the positive and female for the neg, (bullet type), fit tightly ...ok
