Gents I have a 60 Plate GTR and was only supplied with one Fob can any one tell, should we have 2, as I am now worried that some one has a Fob which allows then to just walkof with my bike.
SNOB :nono:
only the early 2008/9 models came with two fobs
you should have one primary fob plus a spare fob which can be used as an emergency key
Have you got a handbook, as all is explained in there
hope this helps
I have the main Fob but no secondary fob I will contact the dealer and see what happens.
Thanks for the info I love the bike its awesome.
SNOB
OK, no probs
Glad you're enjoying the bike....won't say "we told you so" ....but :mfr_lol:  :whistling:
You only get the one large fob which sits in your pocket, the other spare fob is a very slim black fob which has a small key in it which you can use in an emergency to start the bike.
You do not get two large fobs, if you want another one then the dealer can get them but there a lot of bucks.

Errrrmm, I think I already said that :mfr_lol:
Now now gents all info is greatly accepted, I started riding motorbikes in good ol' 1984 and still learning.

Good information tho all the same

Has anyone mentioned that you only get one fob on the 2010 onwards GTR? It also comes with a black thingy with a second key inside. I've no idea yet how the hell that works. :mfr_lol:

it,s magnetic and you hold it at the front of the key hole which allows you to turn it on

Surely there must be some sort of digital signature on the fob? Otherwise I can see GTR's being stolen easily!
Dare I say .. like a BMW ... different signals every time or the same I am not sure but either way one imagines that ones Gtr is safe .... I hope !
I have got a small fob with the bike so maybe that is the muthical second fob.
Yet again owner manuals grrrr only to be used when you cant sleep.
But thanks for the help I will try it when I get home.

It better be since you can unlock and start the bike with it.
Just hold the bottom corner against the protrusion on the left front of the lock and it will unlock the bike.
Just give it a try next time you meet someone with a GTR and see if you can start his bike with your spare key case.
If you can it would be of real concern. :sweatdrop:
And if you can't that's a relief.
The big fob supposedly works the same way in case the battery is flat.
the second fob does not look like a fob, more like a key

don't worry ...I wasn't having a go at big Alan...hence the :mfr_lol: emoticon
Having said all that it would be interesting to see if the 'secondary' fob works with any other GTR...maybe on the next ride out we could all end up going home on a different bike :mfr_lol: :mfr_lol: :mfr_lol:
Only the earlier models got two proper fobs. 2010 on were one fob and an emergency cardy/fobby thing........ :whistling: :whistling: :whistling:
Chancy bugger :mfr_lol:
OH YES
there's really no need for a second proximity "big" fob. the small card type works fine and due to it's size, it dam handy to keep in your wallet  I did get a second proximity fob programmed to my bike when new! but I gave my dealer a load of earache and he gave me it at cost and programmed it for free to shut me up  I can winge for england when it suits me  at the time I thought like you. what, only one fob..! but thinking about it now, the "big" fob is always safe in your zip pocket and there's no need to remove it from your pocket, so there's little chance of loosing it. but if you do want a second fob, there dam expensive and need to be programmed to your bike. but I've been told the full price including programming is £250.00  "I'm diddled dammed  if I would I've botherd..! if I had needed to pay the full price

What's a muthical fob?
And ...told you so... there now it's all off the chest .... welcome ...what would you prefer to be called? that number plate must invite many comments :innocent:
I drive a nice Skoda (yes there are some) and I as once told I could not be posh in a Skoda so I bought a number plate S555NOB and put the gap thus S55 5NOB hence it read SNOB unfortunately our wonderful boys in blue (NOT) did not agree after having it on cars for 7 years and fined me so now sadly it just reads NOB
SNOB (and proud)
:mfr_lol: :mfr_lol: Now thats funny!!
