Hi Folks
As I've been lurking on this site for a few weeks I thought it about time I introduced myself. Based in south Birmingham & picked up my 08 GTR a week ago, a combined retirement & birthday present to myself in readiness for finishing work in a couple of months. Had numerous bikes over the past nearly 50yrs and so far after only 200 mls or so am very pleased with the GTR. The only thing I don't like about the GTR is the can so can see me fitting a Remus in the near future.
Thanks to everyone on the Forum for all the hints, tips & information which helped no end in helping me make the desicion to buy my bike. Look forward to meeting up with anyone in the local area or on meets or rideouts in the future.
Regards
Trotters
Welcome to the mad house! Lets see what jokes the comedians have for you....
Hello Trotters and WELCOME ... nice to have you on board at last, after all that lurking !
Retiring after 50 yrs of bikes or are you around the 50 mark ? Sounds good to me ... any plans in your old age or are just going to ride your new bike all the time ??
:185: Trotters, enjoy the forum, seen you lurking recently and was wondering when you'd say hi :mfr_lol:
What sort of bikes have you had in the past?
:185: To the funny farm Trotters, If you own a GTR this is the place to be. All the info and help you will ever need. Enjoy. cheers Geoff
Welcome Trotters - which force are you retiring from!??
welcome to you mate
Hi and welcome to the GTR experience :biker3:
Hi Folks
Yep, retiring on 65th birthday from Birmingham Council & I must say the way local Government jobs are going not a moment to soon.
Started riding in 1963 with a Triumph Tiger Cub & worked my way through Tiger 100, 110's, a Bonnie & various BSA's. Then 20yrs ago became a year round rider & started with my one & only BMW, an R100RT, VFR 750, CBX, CBR, Z9, VFR 800, R1. My last bike sold a couple of weeks ago was a very nice XJR 1300. Now looking forward to putting some miles on the GTR & next weekend going down to Wootton Bassett for the Ride of Respect.
Well thats a bit of my potted history, hope to catch up with a few of ya in the future.
Welcome from the Lake District trotters, I'm sure you will find this forum both friendly and informative
Its a great place f=to enjoy some banter and pick up information.
Hi Trotters
Not sure if I'm qualified to say "welcome" yet as only just joined myself! Anyway I can recommend a Remus can and whilst you are at it pull the flies and add a PCIII or V it make all the difference and nearly brings it up to the Busa it replaced!
Enjoy your retirement.
+1 from Mr Paul ...
:185: and enjoy your well earned retirement ....
