It was :censored: cold!
:agree: It WAS indeed cold! Quite a good turn out of GTR owners though and quite a good turn out in general at 'The Bridge'. I see we just missed five '0' :police: as we left.
Just sorting out the few pics I took and then I'll stick em on here.
I like the first picture .... TWO green GTRs' !!!!
That food hut makes a fortune
Yes that hut is a goldmine, might not look much but it rakes some coin in!

I noticed on the way out that the Little Chef has closed down on the A65, (I think it's the A65), would make a pretty good bikers venue if planning permission could be obtained and if 100milesaway would sell a few of his Rollers to get it off the ground.
Right lets see who we recognise and who I can remember names of...

I can't say, 'I didn't tell you'. :whistling:
It's always a lot colder and wetter up on the moors.
That was the reason I didn't come down on Sunday even though the sun was shining.
Well, that and the 120 mile trip from Newcastle in the cold of course.
nice to hear from you Sebastian..lets hope that your weather improves and then you can post some pictures of your ride out
It is possible that it could still snow some more over here ....but let's hope not

Mecki you are not the first person to mention the cold on Sunday. I think you must be a bunch of girls ( apologies to any girls). I think you all need a riding kit upgrade and/or to man up a bit. As you know I'm an old coot, BUT I can honestly say that at no time on Sunday was I cold . In fact in my opinion apart from the ICE  on certain stretches of road it was a great day to be out on a bike.
It was fresh, but not cold. :mfr_lol:
It showed a high of 6c Max and at most times, and a low of 2c
But TBH I wasn't cold at any time, nice warm clothing under nice warm jacket etc., [/color]

I don't have a problem with my gear or the cold - HG textile Jacket and pants pretty much the same as yours and warm as toast.
Getting out of bed on a Sunday before 8 so I can get to Kirby Lonsdale by 11 is not my kettle of fish even in summer.
How long does it take you to get there?
Well, then add an hour (first through Newcastle and Gateshead and then mainly on the A1) each way. :hammer:
So when I looked out of the window on Sunday morning I just thought, 'I rather just turn around and stay in bed a bit longer'. :whistling:
Alston ~ Hartside Top could well be a suitable meeting place asits fairly centrally ;located...and then some scram at Middleton in Teesdale
Just an idea for future meets/ride outs
Devils Bridge is fine but when you've been there on a regular basis foor the last god knows how many years it does get a bit boring, and its quite a long way for some of us, not me though its only 25 minutes :whistling:

Gerd, Kirby Lonsdale is about an hour from my palace, BUT I was up at 6 chomping at the bit  : :biker3::Yes I still get a real buzz out of going out on the bike, and am pretty much unfazed by what the weather is doing. I could NEVER just turn around and stay in bed a bit longer when the option is going for a wizz on the bike

Good on you, Geoff.
I too like a nice ride out but not before 10:00 or 11:00. First a bit of sleeping in :sleep1: , followed by a nice breakfast  and a walk along the river with my best mate. After that I'm ready to go for a run on the bike for the rest of the day - Now that's a good Sunday for me.
And yes, Alston or Hartside comes to mind for a meeting place for Northerners - but surely not in winter. :nono:
I wouldn't be surprised if they still have snow up there. :sweatdrop:
mecki, in the warmer months I'll often set off on a ride at about 5 in the morning. Great time of the day to be out on the bike. You can watch the Sun rise and take in that lovely fresh air.
As for Hartside Cafe, I went up there in late November 2010 on the GTR, :censored: freezing.......

:agree: I went up there late October and even though it was a bit warmer than on your pics it still wasn't pleasant.
I guess they clear the road from snow and put salt on it but dropping the GTR on a patch of black ice is just too expensive to risk it.
