Ok, just to clarify I am as far from being a book worm as I am likely to win the next TT. ;D But I do like to read occasionally and someone recently recommended to me a book called Uneasy Rider by Mike Carter, who is a a normal bloke living a normal life. Its a travel and discovery book, the guy takes six months off work and travels around Europe visiting many destinations not normally visited by tourists on a m/cycle. I have to like and immediately click with the writing style and personality of the writer to even stand a cat in hell chance of finishing a book and this one ticks all the boxes. Anyway if its your cup of tea, Watersones, Amazon etc are good sources to locate it.
Prefer watching rather than reading. Long way around and long way down are good if you can stomach Charley Boorman
This one's a must http://www.amazon.co.uk/Motorcycle-Roadcraft-Police-Handbook-Motorcycling/dp/011341143X

;) I can honestly say that I have read that book from cover to cover. I even have it upstairs as we speak. :-X
