just joined, so thought I would say hello. had my gtr1400 2010 model in magnesium grey for 3 weeks now, up to now. well impressed! traded a 2008 vn 1600 for it, did pay the full price for the gtr1400 £12.499 but got £7,499 for my vn1600, so was happy with the deal. also have a 2008 df8 zzr1400 also had since new, which I have no plans on selling. this is allso excellent machine, so the gtr1400 as a lot to live up to! hoping to give as well as receive information. hope to be back soon! here is a pic of my 2010 gtr1400 and of my 2008 zzr1400

Hi & welcome. A very impressive collection of machinery there, Mr Bates is gonna be a bit envious of those two beauties ;D
Whereabouts are you based?
Hi and welcome to the forums.
As Lonewolf has pointed out I am envious of the ZZR. One day I will own one ...
The GTR doesn't quite have the poke of the ZZR, but then again, the ZZR doesn't have the protection the GTR offers. Are you using one as a winter bike and the other as a summer bike?

I use both my bikes all year round depending on weather conditions. dont use when the weather is really bad due to having a car, thats not because the bikes will get shited up. because if you clean them right, they stay right! more because of the fact been riding since 1976 and done my fair share of shity weather riding. lets face it! you dont have a dog and bark yourself!

sounds good to me, am quite well situated. as in! am only 50 miles from north wales, 75 milles from the lakes, can be in any of theses destinations in approx 1 hour on the gtr and 5 mins on the zzr!! ;D only joking! am getting on now, so have more sense, but must stress!!! am not yet passed it :)
Right we will bare that in mind for the better weather, have a look at some of the Adventure threads, early days yet but if you have any travel stories and photos feel free to post them in there.

Welcome old chap. As a former ZZR owner I am envious that you have the privledge of owning both bikes simultaneously. Compared to the ZZR, the GTR is more detuned but a far better touring bike and general all rounder. I do miss the power though and can see a new ZZR gracing the forecourt this summer alongside the GTR.
Enjoy the ride.
