having worked in Retail for many years I can say the way he was dealt with was in line with anyone else, the days are gone for the famous being treated favouably by plod, if anything being, famous is worse as they will make an example of you for PR.
If he had no previous , admitted to the crime and was for small everyday things then anyone would get a caution for first offence. A caution is like a first warning, there is an electronic copy of it so you cant get another for the same offence
Yep as daft as it may sound to some, if the geezer has no previous for theft he's entitled to a caution, if he admits the offence, which clearly he did.
