Daft question maybe, but is there a loan comparison site like you can get for insurance etc. Only reason I ask is that most loan companies are quoting 9.9% APR or even 20% APR in some cases.
There used to be a link on here months ago where you could compare some really cheap loans, possibly from supermarkets and the like. I'm sure they were only quoting a fraction of the above figures.
Where's the best places to source finance? (perhaps for a new bike). ;)

You might also want to check Tesco as they are also in the market.
I was looking for something with about a 1 or 2% APR interest charge, do these exist?
Not in this world they dont, even a new mortgage is something like 3.9% and thats on thousands over years.

Nope. Probably around 6% is the cheapest.
I bank with Nationwide and they are very competitive .... the blurb they sent me last week with all the other rubbish was I think at 5.7 %, can't remember if that was for existing customers but I think they are pretty good.
Steve, be careful with loans. If you get a motor specific one then you won't be charged a fee if you decided to pay it off early. With non motoring loans they do.
Well I never knew that ! Cheeky sods !
Be careful when using any kind of comparison site. The one that comes to the top often contains extras or takes away benefits to meet a price. The companies on these sites pay a premium to the comparison site operator to make their product or service hit the top with clever manipulation of figures. Check out voluntary excesses for example.
A good trick to remember for car/bike/house insurance is to make a number of comparisons over a perios of 4 or 5 weeks up to renewal date and make a note of the price and reference number. Insurance underwriters often change prices on an hourly basis to keep ahead of the competition. This means an insurance quote can fluctuate between + or - 40 % within a few days. For example my renewal for the GTR ranged from£278 to £385 with the same company for the same criteria over a period of 5 weeks. On top of this they battered my mobile phone for 3 weeks chasing the business.... MCE I hate you. If anyone wants to know how to stop insurance companies from harrassing you by phone, PM me.

Perhaps its a bit rude and unprofessional of me but I have previously used the tried and tested method of just telling them to stop f***ing harrassing me!
;D
Go on, how do you do it then?

if am not very much mistaken, most motorcycle models are either low rate or 0% interest! for example am sure the kawasaki er6 range and the kawasaki z750 range are on 0% interested if you fancy a nice second bike :) and the other models are on special 1.98% rate 2% ARP rate. don't think this includes the gtr1400, but am sure it includs the new zx6r,zx10r which may bring back those "by gone days" ;) but I think the kawasaki z1000sx,zzr1400, gtr1400 and the versys 1000 are all on the much higher rate of 10% or higher :( but am sure the dealer could possible offer a better deal if threatened with a big stick ;)
LOl, if only it was that simple :)

If kawasaki do an option that beats market rates, then I'd go with that. It would have to have no early repayment penalties.

just had a good look at theses finance deals. "sorry" but did not have the time to look properly before I posted the link. the gtr1400 over 37 months with 10% deposit of £1,329.90 at 10.4% APR the total amount payable is a "whopping" £16,010.14 :o you can get it down slightly if you cough up 20% deposit. "me thinks" if kawasaki want to sell these's flag ship bike's they will need to consider o% interested over at least 3 years.
If you are a Nationwide customer you can , or could up to the last time I looked , borrow up to £15000 at 7.4% .... .not bad :)
Nationwide were pretty much the best deal when I got mine a couple of months ago... I do bank with them too, not sure if that helps or not.
