I am at 73000 miles (110000km) and still on the original tensioner and camchain.

:punk:

Good Day, folks.

I hope that I managed to translate this parts correctly :)

Question is, did you change cam chain and tensioner as per manual (on about 70000 km )?
I am pushing now almost 100,000 km and I was advised by service tech that he is strongly suggest that I change this.
What are yours experience (thoughts) on this ?

Thanks

I am not sure if I will be comfortable using cruise control on the motorcycle. I rarely use it on the car.
But that is just my opinion, and we all know what they say about opinions  :whistling:
However in the today market of the (sport) tourer bikes it is mostly standard.

You should consider yourself lucky that you did not damaged brake discs

The TPS on the bike is a guide, it's never going to be 100% accurate but it's going to be good enough to hopefully keep you safe.

:agree:

It is not 100% accurate but it is more accurate that pressure gauges on most gas stations.

On the other hand, if you are worried for 0.1, 0.2 bar difference than you are riding wrong kind of bike  :whistling:

Just to update on the subject.

Couple of days ago I could not move the bike out from garage as the front brake was stuck "shut".
After couple of squeezes brake opened and I decide that it's high time to do something about brakes.

Got this kit: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/161381582139?_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

and draw bike to dealer to check and clean brakes, overhaul front brake cylinder and change oil.

Got bike back yesterday and so far so good .

Will post pics of "old" cylinder parts soon.

Cheers, Gordan

It's showing 78,000 km on the clock.

Last oil change was about year ago and I have problem with brake for last 6 months.  (I am a seaman so that's why this problem is dragging for so long time, guess I was to lazy to put a boilersuit when I am at home  :whistling: ), but I guess that it's high time do do something about this.

Any how , thanks for advises.

I am having problem with front brake.

Every week or two I notice that front brake is getting "soft". After I open nipple on the cylinder some air is getting out and than it works fine for next week or two. I do not loose any brake oil.
Maybe it's time to change brake lines as bike is already 9 years old  :undecided:
I also ordered front cylinder repair kit but I am thinking that I should bite a bullet and change lines also.
What's yours thoughts ?

Can somebody give me a link where to check brake lines for '08 ABS model (or go for original Kawasaki)?

Thanks in advance for advice.

thanks Garfield, I had seen that, and now realise that I haven't worded my OP very well

I too suspect that the GTR may fade away. ..if it does it will be a great shame, lets hope KHI remodel and update it for the future.

I still fancy another

You are welcome

Hope dies last

Can you please tell which one did you get.
I was looking for some but I couldn't find any that fits in the original place.

Thx
