Introductions / Road kill
April 27, 2020, 07:24:41 AM
Wolverhampton council have found over 200 dead crows along the Stafford road road this past week, and there was concern that they may have died from the Coronavirus.
A veterinary epidemiologist examined the remains of all the crows, and, to everyone's relief, confirmed the problem was NOT Coronavirus (COVID-19).
The cause of death was actually from vehicular impacts. However, during analysis it was noted that varying colours of paints appeared on the bird's beaks and claws. By analysing these paint residues it was found that 98% of the crows had been killed by impact with motorcycles, while only 2% were killed by cars.
Wolverhampton Council then hired an Ornithological expert to determine if there was a cause for the disproportionate percentages of motorcycle kills versus car kills.
The Ornithological expert quickly concluded that when crows eat road kill, they always have a look-out crow to warn of danger.
They discovered that while all the lookout crows could shout "Cah Cah ", not a single one could shout "Bike"!!! 🤣🤣

1400GTR Discussion / Brake speed bleeders
January 29, 2020, 06:44:44 PM
Hi folks.
I was wondering when changing brake/clutch fluids has any body fitted speed bleeder valves.
And if so
A. What did they think ?.
B. What make and where from and do you know the sizes.
I nearly purchased the full set from Murphskits across the pond the order stated 0 postage .
Then the day after another part of them requested $40 shipping I wasn't
Impressed the cost of the parts again which would fit in a jiffy bag . :censored: :censored:

Thanks in advance keep safe all

Accessories, Farkels and Mods / Cleaning the beast
January 03, 2020, 07:04:04 AM
Regarding cleaning.

Before Christmas I treated myself to a works hydroshot.
It's not as powerful as the ones used on cars at car washes  but I found it ideal for the bike and the bonus for me as I live in an upstairs flat is around 4/5 buckets of water it's done 👍 the only extras I purchased was another battery to make sure I completed the wash .
For anybody with the same problem as me a water supply to outside Around £100 not so dear .

Accessories, Farkels and Mods / Scorpion exhaust
July 21, 2019, 01:22:25 PM
Hi folks.
I went to fit a scorpion carbon exhaust today the standard one was held on with three bolts easy peasy.
When trying to fit the scorpion the bore measured 54mm inside compared to the standard measuring 60 mm on the inside didn't want to force on as 6 mm is a huge difference for something like this .
Anybody else fitted a scorpion and had the same problem thank you in advance

1400GTR Discussion / Tyres
April 24, 2018, 09:19:48 AM
The time has come to change the original 023s .
With work and other commitments not putting much mileage on.
Anyway the reason I am posting this for some unaware it's very hard to find road pilot 3s I have been informed by 3 different fitters they have stopped making them and your choice is 4s or the new 5s.
Apart from other brands my best price for fitting a set of 4s GTs on the bike is £290 . ( taking just wheels in it's cheaper)
Has anybody tried the 5S yet .
Thanks in advance

1400GTR Discussion / Horn stopped working
August 23, 2017, 02:30:10 PM
Hi ladies and gents.
Just a little info if some have had or have  this problem
When I go out I do the normal checks tyres and pressures indicators dipped beam horn etc.
When I tried the horn failure so I did the normal checks fuse horn crimps could not se a problem last year I fitted PIAA horns so I dug out the original and tried that still nothing.
So a quick phone call to Cradley Heath kawasaki and a chat with one of the engineers he advised me because of infrequent use you get a build up of crud on the contact on the bars which stops the positive earthing out when the horn is pressed making the circuit ( I think that's what he said  ).
He told me to spray WD40 into the button and keep pressing and low and behold a working horn again a cheap and happy fix   .
So folks go down this route first if it happens to you  :mfr_lol:

Hi all.
Just to let you know I purchased two covers for the brake reservoir that mount ram balls .
From motorcycle larrys a good bit of kit a bit pricey with the delivery but as I said well made.
Fitted a treat as stated.my problem on the 2014 bike is when locking the ball hits the screen if you raise the screen a bit it clears but if you keep forgetting who knows .
Admittedly full lock will probably only be on slow manoeuvring.but be aware if thinking of fitting .

1400GTR Discussion / New 2014 GTR
August 06, 2015, 09:12:25 PM
Lady and gents.
As some are aware I have upgraded my old 2009 for a newer 2014 model.
It has approximately 13 months Kawasaki warranty remaining and I have extended it another 2 years.
My question is to you all with superior knowledge and experience.
whilst in warranty do you keep to the standard tyres at the moment it has battlax BT021 fitted none required yet.
And what about parts like risers will this affect the warranty.
Thanks in advance.

Well ladies and gentlemen.
Finally the deal has been done after losing three bikes at the final stages ( they probably had better deals with no p/x )
I have finally changed the bike to a newer one .
Mine was a late 2009 Black the faster colour  :mfr_lol: with the storage on the tank approx 23000 miles on it .
The new baby is a 2014 with 1260 miles on the clock in graphite grey the next faster colour  :mfr_lol:
With the large service bill plus a rear Tps I was looking at around a grand so with the P/x it was a now brainier well impressed can't wait to put some miles on her spent today removing various farkels hopefully they will fit the new baby

I know the newer modal has the k-tract so any settings advice will be much appreciated
