Stephen give BMW on insurance a call. They were offering a good price and the included extras were many. I stayed with Footman James when I changed from 2010 GTR to 2014 GSA three weeks ago. Only reason for not changing was it would have cost more to exit current insurer and start with new. Will be getting back to BMW own insurance when renewal is due.

After four and a half great years I last night said goodbye to my Muddy Brown 10 plate GTR.  Collect my new ride this Friday :'(:D. Update to follow.

I'm sorry to say I am going to have to bail on this weekends meet at The Belfry. Have just had seven fantastic days away with the GTR and wife on her first real trip away on the bike and it has been great. Only snag is the ferry from Santander is currently still sat alongside with one main engine very poorly. Looks like it will be 24 hours before we arrive in Portsmouth. Which means one day at home before  venturing back east to the Forest of Dean. I have let the Belfry know that we will not be attending.

Have a great weekend Guys and Gals.

I've just bought Halvarssons Panzar jacket and Prince trousers. All good with them so far.

I have a test ride booked on a GSA and the new RT in a couple of weeks, so who knows?  could be another heading down the same route.

I've fitted the GT version of the PR4.

Do you really think Asif and Steve are going to ride !!  :biker3:

Stefan,

I plan on having a ride out on Saturday.  Could head towards Brecon and the Beacons, maybe even the Penderyn Welsh whiskey distillery. I'll think of a few routes that could be options.

I had PR4's fitted a couple of weeks back. Had a 200 mile run on them yesterday. Varying conditions, light rain, dry roads, very wet areas of run off of rain from the fields. My last experience of the pilot roads was the PR2's on a triumph sprint st and they were good in all conditions. The PR4's yesterday seem to offer outstanding grip in all conditions. Certainly a good way better than the Avon Storm 2 ultras they have replaced.

I've looked at the centre stand removal and getting a spanner of any sort onto the nuts that are alongside the rear shock lower mount is going to be a struggle to get off. Think I'll go for the wire brush and smooth rite option. May be a bit easier if the bike was raised up on a bike lift.

Looking at owners manual and at the stand on the bike I would say the strip down is to aid access to the two nuts that are inside the bike frame. With a thin profile open ended spanner I would say it is a doable job without complete strip down as per the workshop manual.

Just had a closer look at centre stand removal. Can't see the reason for having to remove the rear shock. Looks like two nuts and bolts. The nuts may be difficult to gain access too. Will let you know how I get on Steve.

You have beaten me to the same question Mr Wolf. Have soaked my nuts in a bit of WD40 and planning to get the centre stand to my local powder coater next week.  Just have to decide do I stay black or go for a contrasting colour?
