1400GTR Discussion / Re: Hazard Lights

Quote from: Burchy on February 08, 2026, 07:45:08 PMIt's common across the Kawasaki range that the hazards DON'T work with the ignition off.  Quite ridiculous in my opinion
Agree, what is the point then? Ludicrous.

Should the hazard lights work when the ignition is off ie as in a breakdown? Seems a ridiculous question but mine don't.
Is there a way or are mine faulty?

Quote from: Boomer on January 28, 2026, 09:58:36 PMThose are for the GTR1000, not the 1400.
I made my own rubber pillion pegs using part of some GTR1000 pegs and some brackets from aftermarket adjustable pegs.
Thanks Boomer,
I realised they were not the correct ones when they arrived, they went on (after standing in hot water for a couple of minutes) ok and are now a tight fit. Will see how they are come the Spring.

The rear TPM sensor was full of tyre sealant to such an extent that when I removed the valve the tyre remained inflated! The sensors are the moulded type, didn't see a way to change the batteries. Hopefully the sensor will now work.

1400GTR Discussion / Pillion Pegs

Anyone have any info on where I can find straight swap pegs, Mrs Bluesman has complained they are a little too narrow and should be rubber topped. I suspect she may not be the first. Why didn't Kawasaki fit decent pegs to a long distance bike?

That's a great help mate. I'll be fitting new tyres in the next week or so will do it then. I'm thinking that they won't need pairing after just a battery change, is that correct?

The rear TPM has stopped showing pressure, can you change the batteries in them? Do they need to be paired after?

:agree:  the fact that it could be a manufacturing defect is why I posted it on here. Dread to think what might have happened.
I've obviously replaced mine.

While working on my GTR just happened to notice what I thought was a hair on the left hand stay, it was a crack that was not far off right the way through. No idea how this has happened, the bike has never been down in the six years I've owned it. Possibly some form of stress fracture. I've attached some picture evidence. Thought it was worth notifying everyone on here.

Cheers Burchy  :agree: :mfr_lol:

Job completed!!
All 16 valves were on the tight side, just below bottom limit, to be expected on its first check.  She fired up with no problems. Valves sorted, new air filter, spark plugs. Just brake / clutch fluid and coolant change to go. Thanks for the help and advice.
