Enjoying the write ups, thanks
I always keep going until the road is physically blocked, especially in areas like that where you get occasional landslides. The Eifel & Ardennes are amazing riding roads.

I am also in Saaaf Essex (Wickford) and have had my 1400 since Aug 2007, so have some experience of the bike. Any questions, ask away and we will do our best to help.

It appeared on one site only so almost certainly AI generated bull :shit:
Kawi won't be designing new large capacity bikes any more. The future is super/turbo charged or electric.

Northern Belgium is all endless 1 road towns and 50Kmh limits, but smooth tarmac. I almost always use the motorways to get where I want to be.
Southern Belgium is the exact opposite, lots of empty twisty roads but the surfaces are mostly awful.
Enjoying the trip so far

Welcome Brummer,
Chances are the ZZR & GTR water pumps are identical, but I can't confirm that as I've never even seen the water pump on my 1400.

Mine rusted so badly that at the 15k mile service it was replaced under warranty. The replacement has so far managed a further 62k miles of year round use but will need some paint soon. Should just be 2 bolts and the spring to get it off. I have done a few GTR1000 centrestands but haven't done the 1400 yet.

I disagree. I find almost all modern bikes to be "soulless" compared to the older analogue machines. Don't get me wrong, the modern bikes accelerate harder, ride faster, handle better, brake better, but to get any kind of thrill out of them you need to be riding so fast you they will probably crush your bike and burn your licence when you get busted.
Riding my ancient 200k mile GTR1000 is way more challenging and rewarding than the 1400.

I did over 100k miles on my Z1300(DFI) in the mid 80's and while it was smooth and blisteringly fast it was seriously hard work to hustle it through the twisties.
Would I have another one? Probably, but I'd need a Lottery jackpot win as would need a much bigger garage.
