Back in 2016 I had my ECU Flashed by Steve Sefsick in Florida whilst there on holiday and I loved the difference his Decel flash made to my 07 1400GTR, especially the low rpm torque gains, but it suffered from a flat spot at around 4k rpm that led to the throttle sometimes hunting at constant speed and whilst it got rid of most of the throttle snatchiness, there was still some there.

Fast forward to 2020 and I just had my flash updated by Michael Cox who does Shoodaben (https://sites.google.com/site/shoodabenengineering/) flashes in Europe.
I had Michael install the new Mountain Runner Premium flash and whilst this requires the use of 96RON or higher petrol, I chose this as I no longer commute so the extra cost is of Super petrol no longer matters to me. There is the regular Mountain Runner flash available if you prefer to stick to Premium 95RON petrol.

So, what's it like? Well, that flat spot is totally gone and the remaining snatchiness in the throttle totally eliminated. I went for a ride around Essex and Suffolk yesterday with some friends and got to try her out in a real world setting. We rode just about every road type apart from dirt and boring motorways/dual-carriageways and whilst Essex and Suffolk don't have any mountains, they are far from flat.

The power from 1500rpm is utterly linear, totally predictable, and utterly relentless. This gives you confidence after just a few miles to push it quite hard. I only had one minor twitch all afternoon and that was because I got overconfident on a brand new rear PR4GT. It's like having a new bike after 13 years and 75,000 miles.😁

I can't recommend Steve and Michael highly enough. Steve has developed an awesome flash for the GTR and the fast and efficient turnaround by Michael made the whole process relatively painless.

These brackets lower the entire original foot-peg brackets. They are the black brackets.
I tried them on someone elses GTR1400 and loved them as they move the pegs down about 35mm (1 3/8") but they also move them slightly outwards.
However, when I went to fit them they fouled the exhaust link pipe for my Remus Hexacone system.
Would be ideal for someone with the stock exhaust or with an aftermarket exhaust that doesn't angle up until behind the foot-peg.
Asking £60 delivered to UK (cost me £110 from USA) or to EU with you paying the extra shipping.

General Discussion / Boomer down again
June 28, 2017, 12:12:43 AM
Had a truck turn right in front of me from the left lane with no indicators.
Was on the GTR1000 which is broken again.
I have extensive bruising and a separated AC joint on my right shoulder.
Am now officially bored of being in pain because of incompetent f***wits being allowed to drive.
Truck driver is being prosecuted (had a witness) but i am the one who gets to endure the pain and hassle.
Sorry to say that I will not now being attending the meet in Yorkshire.
Be safe out there my friends.

Ok, w.t.f. am I on about?
Well during my recent visit to Florida I went and visited Steve, purveyor of the SisF Flash for our ECU.
I am now the happy owner of a super smooth, torquey, GTR that has no throttle snatch and goes like stink.
I had his "Decel Flash" and the difference is remarkable.
Pulls cleanly from below 2000rpm in any gear and in 1st to 3rd pulls like a steamtrain.
This flash is not aimed at top end power, rather smoothness and tractability.
So far this is the best $300 spent on my 1400. :punk:

The Dark Side / GTR SMASHED!
May 05, 2016, 10:49:02 PM
Had a bit of a down on the way home tonight. ABS probably would have helped.
Car in front was hit by a blue BMW coming the other way. I braked hard to not hit either and the front wheel locked.
GTR1000 has a lot of busted plastic and a bent fairing frame but runs fine.
I am heavily bruised and some small grazes but nowt broken.

BMW tosser just drove off.  :death: :tank: :shit: :gun_bandana: :censored: :2guns:
May need to invest in some cameras for the bikes as am getting sick of arseholes doing a runner after doing a stupid.

Woman driving the car in front was shaken but OK. Damaged front wing and wing mirror.

General Discussion / Lemmy
December 30, 2015, 02:14:53 PM
Listening to Lemmy growl his way through Silver Machine was what got me interested in motorcycles in the first place.
In the early 80's I got work with him for a couple of months only to find out he didn't ride but loved the rebel image of the biker, especially that of the film "The Wild Bunch". I also learned that Silver Machine is actually about a bicycle. :mfr_lol:
Now following his death I find myself wondering where I would be if he had not become a musician.

So, who got you interested in motorcycling?

Accessories, Farkels and Mods / Go Black
May 26, 2015, 07:32:48 PM
Well, Vivian now has new TPS batteries, a new PR4 rear, and black powdercoated wheels.
Also fitted 10W LED spotlights fitted to the mirrors tied into High beam.  No they are not fitted "ear ring style".
Pics to follow when I get a moment.

Accessories, Farkels and Mods / Spot lights
April 12, 2015, 06:26:26 PM
Ok, I have some spots I want to mount on the 1400.
The best place seems to be under the mirror mounts.
I saw someone post a pic here recently that looked tidy but now cannot find it.
I've seen the pics of ZGs nice setup but it wasn't that.
I'm guessing I will need to remove the mirrors to fit them properly.

The lights will come on with high beam only and are narrow beam spots (30° 10W LED).

I already have a set on my 1000 and they are VERY effective at getting cars to make room when filtering.
Just a quick flash and they move over. £20 the pair.

I also bought a set of these but they are useless as they cycle between high, low and STROBE every time you power them.
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/121603850607 (scroll down to see) £32 the pair.

Hi, I have been asked on the US COG forum about bike rental in Ireland or other possibilities.
Are there any pitfalls to buying, riding and selling a bike in Eire?
Do you know of any Irish bike rental companies?
