Some time ago I mentioned I was not impressed with the standard screen on my 2009 GTR and dared to suggest I could be tempted by a BMW. Well 5,000 miles later including a trip to France, North Wales, RTTW and umpteen days out and finally today I am convinced the GTR is the best bike I have ever owned and far superior to the R1200 BMWs I tested. Well I was wrong and now that I am more accustomed to the bike, I find it perfect for me and the wife or me on my own.
Having covered some seriously wet miles in Wales and a cold day out riding today fom Stockport to Stoke via Macclesfiled, up to Bolton and chatted to a nice bunch of guys at Bolton Kawasaki (was Doug Hacking Motorcycles). Was well impressed with the new dealership in Bolton. I intend to have the bike serviced there in the next couple of weeks, will let you know how they fare. I must admit, the new ZZR1400 is tempting, and the wife said I could have one as long as it was metalic green after she saw an awesome looking metalic green ZZR1400 with colour coded panniers at Sandbach Services for RTTW. Course I went too far and said we would have to have one of each, a ZZR and a GTR. Ouch!

Rusty

Sounds good Chris .... spend it whilst you are here ... can't take it with you  ;D

Lonewolf

Have to agree with Rusty, go with your heart. I hear the new ZZR is going to be 1440cc with over 200BHP  :o :o  If thats your thing go for it, you only live once.

I had the same feelings when i first test rode the GTR, i was really sure i was gonna hate it..... and then had to tell the dealer that i actually rather liked it.
And now after about 2,000 similar miles to you...Wales, in the rain, hooning round French D roads and generaly exploring the far edges of the Bridgestones I am even more impressed than before... cracking bike...

mind you....

1440cc, 2000bhp, and the fastest accelerating production bike ever made....... oooh go on then  ;D
She is like the Bumblebee, she should not fly....... and yet she does!
