Good services (as well as bad) should be shared....

I went to HG today intending to buy a pair of Goretex winter gloves after nearly killing myself with a pair of Oxford Bar Muffs this morning (I really don't seem to get on with Oxford stuff).

Anyway I was also  planning to visit Fowlers in Bristol as they had a nice pair of Rukka Atlas gloves I wanted to look at.  I thought I would pop into HG first as I have a fabulous pair of HG Kangaroo leather race gloves I bought a few years ago and I thought they were worth a look see.  They chaps there showed me the Alpinestars winter gloves  (about £160) which I thought looked good.  At that point I told them about the bar muffs and that I really prefer to wear my summer gloves 'cos they're so comfy.  Instead of taking the money for the Alpinestars he showed me a set of neoprene three-fingered over gloves (£39) and told me to buy them instead.  I tried them on over the summer gloves and they are fantastic.

Over a cuppa he then STRIPPED CLEANED AND POLISHED  my Arai as I told him that with the spare cash I could do with a clear pinlock insert for my visor.  He then put the insert in for me.  After that I just wanted to spend more money in the store so I bought a few cans of ACF50 and a few other bits.  He then told me as I had spent £100.23 I was then entitled to a 10% discount which I hadn't seen.

Over a second cuppa we then discussed our respective bike trips abroad.  I didn't get to Fowlers in the end but rode hope with a large smile on my face....

Marks out of ten for Hein Gericke in Bristol?  I know what I think!

Blimy Pete I'll bet you did have a large smile on your face on your way home, I think any of us would if we  could get our helmets polished at our local HG  ::) :o ;D ;)
What would you rather be   or a wasp?

GTRPete

I deliberately said ARAI as opposed to helmet you dirty bugger.  Mrs Marshall takes care of everything else (after I've drugged her of course. . . . .)

I have always had good service at HG Bristol - although it has been a few years since I have been there

I've never made it into HG Bristol, despite working nr Bristol. Perhaps I should make the effort! Can you park up outside?

I've been to Fowlers a few times and find them a bit impersonal, but there's a lot there and a lot of bike manufacturers too.

The HG outlet by me here in Eynsham (Oxford) are very helpfull, on both occasions there has been no pressure to purchase, coffee freely availiable and as much help as i need, i now own a cracking jacket and trousers which i was offered a deal on.

I can recommend.

Yep you can park directly outside the shop on the enormous pavement.  No traffic attendants will bother you as they go into HG for coffee as well....
