Well youv'e all missed it. I put a thread on about the show a couple of weeks ago but there were no takers.
It was the first ever Cumbria bike show with ALL proceeds going to two local Air Ambulance charities. The organiser was saying that for approximately two days before the event there was significant rain creating access problems for the bikes. So the solution was to create a bed of straw which was hastily thrown down to prevent the bikes from sinking. The downside to this was that it didn't do anything for the appearance  of the bikes.

That straw took some getting out from under the hugger.

Everybody tentatively creeping into the field to park their bikes.

One of the Air Ambulances made an appearance.

The organiser being interviewed for local TV.

The usual selection of visitors bikes as well as stands from some of the leading bike manufacturers.

This was a stunning example of a Goldwing Trike.

Fancy dress anyone?

Entertainment for the kids.

I'd never seen one of these before.

Plenty of food stands.

A proud GL owner.

Various trade stands. This guys artwork was stunning.

There was a Gymkhana display but as the ground was so slippery they decided to do it on a sheet of plastic. Isn't plastic slippery too.......apparantly yes.

He was the expert, but the surface was far too slippery.

There was a display also from an extreme stunt team. The poor grip on the run up to the ramp caused them a few problems periodically but it was still impressive what they could do on those bikes.

A great day out. They had an auction later in the afternoon. Michelin auctioned off a pair of PR3's in any size and for any bike, which went for £150. Honda auctioned off a 6000 mile service which sold for £65. Lots of bargains like that. Hopefully the organiser will consider the event a success and repeat the event in 2012.
That's it, plenty more photos but that's a cross section of what I took for your entertainment. Hope you enjoyed.

Well I have to say that was enjoyed by myself ... looks like we all missed a good day out ! The helmet spraying stand looked good .... did you get his details ??
It's always funny to watch blokes in a field with their bikes, trying desperately hard not to slip over and make an arse of themselves .... and that looks like hard work ... especially as it looked fairly wet !!
A good cause too ......  any of us may need an air ambulance one day ( fingers and toes crossed of course ) so well done for going and making the effort.  ;D

I have to admit I stalled the bike because I was going so slow over the wet grass. :-[  I didn't want to drop it, that would have been bad news. Those on their BMW GS's who attended were just storming in, boody show off's.  ;)  The new clothing was excellent in the heavy rain I experienced on the way up. This event was a test for the camera which I'm still learning how to use and a test for the HG gear.
Here's a link to the company who do the airbrushing. http://www.airdevils.co.uk/mr-body-works/alloy-wheel-refurbishment.html

Thanks for the link .... these guys are quite amazing ... I don't always like what they do but that's down to personal choice design and colour etc .. but their actual artwork, flair and ability are awesome  ;D

Superb photos, looks like a great day out.

I went on one of those hamster-balls-on-water things recently with my son. I have never been so tired after so little excercise before - they are absolutely exhausting  :o
