For those that are interested I've sourced a good deal with a company who can supply the SW-Motch parts in the subject.

http://www.biker-discount.co.uk/sw-motech-alu-rack-kawasaki-gtr-1400-gpt0840610000b-black-2750-p.asp

Once you go through to checkout it will give you the option pay by phone, call them and mention you are from the GTR Forum and he will give you a discount ;)

Hope this helps those who are fed up with wobbly top box's  ;D

Which is better for a Givi box, such as the MAXIA 3, the SW Motech alu rack, or the full Givi mounting kit (the one which adds extra support)? The SW Motech rack is obviously easier to install, but is the Givi kit more stable, or not much different?
Current - Kawasaki 1400 GTR
Previously - Kawasaki Versys, Honda 650 Deauville, Honda 125 Varadero

simbad

Thanks for that - Any idea on the amount he'll give?

I wouldnt be able to comment on the givi kit but I myself have ordered the Motech kit and rack.

I have the sw motech alu rack and mono plate adaptor on my bike, top box does not move at all and there have been no issues either with stability at autobahn speeds  ;D

I got the lot for just under 100 delivered so that was about 10% off

Stupid question perhaps, but is the adaptor plate *needed* too for the OEM Kawasaki topbox. Surely the plate that came as standard will just bolt into the holes in the SW-Motech alu rack?

Martin.
65,000 miles now. Loving this bike.

Gas Man

Its a risk only u can take, I've ordered both and if I feel the motech 1 is no better and I can use the 1 that came with the box ill send it back

Gas Man

So has anybody gone for this deal ???

Got mine delivered today by DPD so knew within 1hr when it was gonna turn up 8)

Have to say I'm very impressed with both the rack and the adaptor plate which you do need to get as its made for that rack.

Must say for under £100 the mighty Kwak could go that little bit further  ;)
