sevice schedule ?

Sorry if I'm being a bit thick - but on looking at the owners manual it would appear that if you read the "whichever comes first" then the bike needs servicing every 6 months ???
can those of you experienced in this type of thing please advise me of  the correct servicing intervals regarding mileage/time ?  -- the "whichever comes first" thing always seems to be a complete con regarding bike mileage as during winter a lot of us hardly ride at all !

(is it worth using a franchised kawasaki dealer to maintain the warranty, or just use any reputable place and ensure genuine parts are used ?)
--- and is there anyway to get a servicing schedule on one page so to speak without having to trawl through a dozen pages in the manual ?

I just go by the mileage. Hell, I've started to go over the recommended mileage.
